Even more laptops to borrow
—— New machines, capable of printing,
copying and scanning
—— More printing facilities across campus in addition to the Library, you can now
print from machines in the Grove,
Williams Building, College Building,
Hatchcroft and Ravensfield
—— The ability to print from laptops and
other mobile devices
—— Print jobs that remain live for up to 12
hours, so you can collect your printing
at quieter times
We strongly support the green agenda and
enforce adherence to copyright laws so:
—— we encourage students to only print/
copy when necessary.
—— printers default to double-sided printing.
—— there is a limit to the amount that can
be photocopied from books and journals.
All printing and copying is recorded
against your individual account (so
please don’t lend your card to anyone!).

We did: We’ve added 20 new laptops to
the first floor of Sheppard Library and 30
new laptops in the Library@Williams as part
of the popular ‘Laptops for Loan’ scheme.
This takes the total laptops available for
you to borrow for free to 190. For students
on placement at the Whittington Hospital
we’ve also installed a 20 bay laptop cabinet
in the Whittington Health Library.

Food, Water and Opportunity: Changes from your Union
At your convenience
You
Said: We want more value for our
money and improvements to the quality
of food available on campus (this came
through loud and clear in last year’s MDXSU
survey).
You
Said: Could we have a better campus
shop with a wider range of services and
more convenient opening hours.
You
Said: We need free security at
Society events
We did: Our student officers spent the
summer in negotiations with the University
and have agreed that all security at Society
events will be provided free up until the
end of Term 1.

The Big Red Phone Box has landed and
will be making special appearances across
campus. Step in to give us your feedback
and find out how we’ve improved the
University in line with your past comments.
Third year students gave Middlesex an
overall satisfaction score of 82% in the
National Student Survey 2013. This is our
highest score yet, and an increase of 5% on
last year’s score.
The externally-conducted survey found
that our students rated the University as
above the national average for delivering
quality assessment, feedback and personal
development. Some courses even received
a 100% satisfaction score from our
students.
We also had an overwhelming response
rate for the survey, with over 70% of
eligible students taking part. Thank you!

Fresher’s Week.
We did: We now stock fresh, readymade
‘Grab ‘n’ go’ options for some of our
most popular combos with an additional
supporting till to help speed up service.
Pre-order your Noshi noodles by
phone and pay when you collect. The
all-important number: 0208 411 3045
—— Orders taken before 11am and
after 2.30pm.
—— During exceptionally busy periods
there may be a delay in answering
the phone.

We did: In collaboration with MDXSU

students were provided during your first
week. And there is much more to look
forward to, including the introduction of a
halls’ film night: http://www.mdxsu.com/

We’ve introduced extra recycling
facilities in the kitchens at Platt
& Writtle halls as a result of
your feedback.
