Rules and Regulations

Entry Fees, as stated in each section.

All livestock must be in Show condition.
3
Members and Judges will be admitted to the grounds on production of
their Membership tickets or passes. All persons not members shall
pay for admittance to the Show the sum prescribed unless otherwise
provided with a pass from the Secretary.

All exhibits must remain at the Show until the section’s Chief Steward
approves the removal of same, or prize money forfeited.

Awards will be made in all classes unless otherwise specified, if the
exhibit is deemed of sufficient merit, and should any person make any
entered as non-competitive by the Secretary. The Committee reserves the right to receive such exhibits if space permits, if of sufficient merit for exhibition purposes only.

In all classes of single entry, it shall be at the discretion of Judge to
award a prize, if exhibit is deemed by him to be of sufficient merit. The
Society has the right to refuse entries without giving a reason.

Exhibits are not allowed to compete in classes and afterwards in collections.

No entry fee necessary for Championships in any section, and only
first and second prize animals will be eligible for championships. No
animal allowed to compete in Championship unless entered in class.

Exhibitors when called upon by the Steward or Committee shall prove
the correctness of their certificate of entry.

All livestock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at the time
of entry, or as otherwise stated. Any breach of this regulation will render the exhibitor liable for forfeiture of any prize, and open to disqualification for future exhibitions. Any exhibitor refusing or preventing
awards to be affixed, interfering with Show Officials, refusing to obey
instructions of the Stewards, interfering with exhibits or detention of
exhibits, or Society’s property, may render himself or herself liable to
disqualification for a period not exceeding three (3) years. Abusive
language and insulting behaviour, wilfully making wrong entry of exhibit or competitor, entry of fraudulent exhibitor or competitor may render an exhibitor to be disqualified for five (5) years.

The Society reserves the right of refusing to admit any exhibit to the
grounds where there is a reason to suspect it is either diseased or dangerous, or to remove any such exhibit from the exhibition.
Exhibitors will be required to make their own arrangements for feeding
stock, but water will be provided on the grounds.

The Society will not under any circumstances hold itself liable for any
accident on the grounds or premises.

Exhibitors and persons admitted to the grounds shall be subject to the
Rules and Regulations and the Orders of the Stewards.

Any exhibitor removing his exhibit from the stall allocated without the
consent of the stewards will be disqualified from competing.

The Society will not under any circumstance hold itself liable for any
accident, loss, damage or non-delivery of livestock or other exhibits at
the Society’s Show, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Society blameless and indemnify it against any legal
proceedings arising through any accident, loss, non-delivery or damage whatsoever.

No Steward, Officer or Member of the Committee wearing the Society’s
badge shall lead, bring into the ring, or hold an exhibit before a Judge,
while same is being judged. Breach of this rule shall disqualify the exhibit.

The Steward will see that all animals competing will have a label or
card with the number written legibly thereon, and that the judges be
furnished with an award paper corresponding with the number of the
label or card. They will also supply them with badges and afford them
all information and attention necessary for the discharge of their duties.

Competitors in jumping and trotting events must wear costume approved by Stewards.

No ribbon other than those won at the current Show is to be worn or
displayed at the Showground, but such ribbons may be affixed to stall
after finally judged.

Protests may be lodged at the Secretary’s office in writing with a fee of
$20 not later the one (1) hour after the judging of the event, in which
the protest is to be made. If the protest is considered frivolous by the
Committee, the deposit shall become forfeited to the Secretary.

No stock shall be permitted to run loose on the grounds during the
show days and nights, unless by permission of the Stewards or Secretary.

Where animals are being led, worked and displayed, it is the responsibility of the owner/handler at the time to ensure the animal does not
become a public safety liability. Animal owners and handlers are
warned to ensure all animals are attended during the fireworks display.

Dogs, other than those owned by members of the Canine
Control
Council, must be kept in closed float or vehicle or else on a short leash
and must be suitably muzzled as to prevent it being able to injure or
bite any person or other animal.

The prizes will be paid within 30 days by the Committee, who will require a signature of acceptance for same. All prize money not claimed
or prize cheques not presented by 30th June, of this current year immediately following the Show will revert to Society funds unless special
arrangements are made with the Secretary. The Committee reserves
the right to substitute special prizes of equal value for any of the above
or aforementioned schedule of prizes.

Conditions of Competition: The By-laws and Regulations of the
Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies By-laws or
Regulations comprised herein, shall be the condition of
competition and
all exhibitors and competitors shall make their entries or enter into competition on this express condition.

In the event where insufficient entries are received the Society reserves
the rights to cancel the competition or reduce the
advertised prize
money.

Judges have the power to withhold any prize if they consider the exhibit
of insufficient merit.
ALL ENTRY FEES ARE GST INCLUSIVE
GST WILL BE ADDED TO THE PRIZEMONEY
FOR EXHIBITORS WHO ARE REGISTERED FOR
GST PURPOSES AND WHO PROVIDE A TAX INVOICE.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY INDUSTRIES require the following
information to be read carefully.

THE KINGAROY SHOWGROUNDS IS A TICK PROTECTED AND
TICK FREE AREA.

This means all stock travelling from tick infected areas must travel with
a travel permit or waybill issued by a Stock Inspector or DPI office.

COMPETITION HORSES ONLY are exempt from inspection and treatment at the tick lines, however, must be well groomed,
stabled
and manageable. All other horses must clear inspection and treatment at clearing centres.

ALL HORSES MUST BE IN SHOW CONDITION TO ENTER THE
SHOW RING.

Centres available for stock clearance in SE Qld are Coolabunia, Wondai, Helidon and Aratula. Stock owners are advised to give 48 hours
notice of booking arrangements with the respective Stock Inspector
for all intended movements to the Kingaroy Showgrounds.

Note: ALL stock carriers are required to provide stock
movement permits and/or waybills to the Inspector at the gate prior to
entry if requested.

Note: ALL owners must fill out THE
HORSE HEALTH DECLARATION FORM.
All horses from one property can go on
one form. Please hand the form in when
you pay your entry fees.

SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS
Program times are approximations and subject to change.
Competitors will be notified of any changes.
Paperwork from a recognised society must be brought to the
measuring bay with each horse at time of measuring
12months and under can be shown as pending papers.
Children are to be under adult supervision at all times
Senior horse is 3years & Over - Junior horse is under 3years

Entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
All horses must hold a recognised registration certificate – show
upon entries
Halter Supreme prize money will halve if less than 15 horses
per section
Performance champion money will halve if less than 10 horses
Back numbers will be issued. Exhibitor must provide number
holder or safety pin
