ur club is hosting the next 2nd Junior League Gala Day for the U7s to U18s which kicks off this
Saturday 30 April! It should be a fun day and it will be all hands on deck to make it a success. So we
need volunteers to assist on the day and are asking for our club community to help even if you could
spare an hour it would be much appreciated. If you can help please see Tanya in the club rooms or
speak to any of the committee members.

Important Dates

Gala Day - Saturday 30 April
Held at our home ground Betula Reserve, Kidds Road, Doveton from 9am see game day draw for
playing times. Important for all players to wear a mouth guard when playing and U7s-U12s it is
compulsory to wear head gear (see your coach).

Round 1 Junior League – Saturday 7 May
Junior league starts – game day draw times TBA.

U12s school-based State Trials – Tuesday 17 May
The U12s school-based State trials will be at Casey Fields, Cranbourne East. If you would like to try out
please complete the registration form. See Tanya in the club rooms for the form.
VRL U15s & U18s State Trials
Our club provided two U15 teams and one U18 team at the State trials held at Waverly on 16 April. To all the
players who attended we are very proud of your courage and determination - well done! Congratulations to
those players who were selected in the preliminary squad and good luck for the final selection. It is such a
fantastic achievement and opportunity to play for your State - you have made your families and club
community proud.

2011 Registration fees NOW due
A BIG thank-you to all those families that have paid their registration so far. Registration fees are now due
and need to be fully paid for by 31st May. Please see Tanya in the club rooms on training nights.

Working with Children
Employers, volunteer organisations and agencies must ensure that any of their staff or
volunteers who need a WWC Check have applied. Everybody who requires a WWC Check
must have a WWC Check or have applied for one by 30 June 2011. Please see Tanya in the
club rooms if you need an application. If you already have a WWC card could you make sure that you
photocopy it and give it to our club Secretary, Tanya.
Sponsorship/Fundraising/Monster Raffle
Congratulations to Petra who won the Melbourne Museum & Scienceworks family tickets. Our club raised
$50 from the raffle. A BIG thank-you for those who bought tickets.
We are also delighted to share with our club our successful application in applying for a donation from the
Gold Coast Titans! We now have a GC Titans football signed by all the players this also comes with a
certificate of authenticity. We are also waiting on a signed GC Titans jersey. Both these items will be raffled
soon and we will be asking our club community in supporting our club by buying a ticket. So watch this
space!
Mother’s Day Hamper Raffle
We will be raffling off a Mother’s Day hamper filled with lovely products from Avon which was kindly donated
by Vanessa Powell.

We have had some offers of donations from families for our monster raffle but WE need MORE so please
support your club by donating anything it doesn’t have to be large or expensive maybe items that could go in
a hamper. Your support is greatly appreciated.
