Eyes on Inquiry Workshop:

Grades 4-12 Science Teachers
Eyes on Inquiry Workshop:
GLOBE Atmosphere, Hydrology, Carbon, and Climate Studies
SPRING 2017
What: The GLOBE Program is a worldwide community of students, teachers, scientists, and citizens
working together to better understand, sustain, and improve Earth's environment at local, regional, and
global scales. At the workshop, you will be trained and certified as a GLOBE teacher. We will video chat
with NASA to learn how you and your classroom can partner with NASA on the Soil Moisture Active
Passive (SMAP) Satellite mission. The workshops will be presented by Jodi Haney, PhD, Xcite Learning.
The grades 4-12 workshop will focus on Atmosphere, Hydrology, Carbon, and Climate [Ohio
Content: Water Cycle, Carbon Cycle, Climate Change, Science Inquiry and Applications]. Back in the
classroom, GLOBE students will collect environmental data and compare their data to data from the
NASA CloudSat Satellite mission to improve the NASA models - a great STEM connection! All
participants receive a "Do GLOBE" kit with hands-on science classroom materials and resources ($100
value).
