Corrugated cardboard boxes are not appropriate as storage units in medical or clean supply
rooms. A corrugated box has more than one layer and channels of paper to give it added
strength as pictured below:

Plastic bins to use as holders for small items such as groups of syringes. The use of
corrugated boxes as storage units is inappropriate. Corrugated boxes should also not be
present in clean storage rooms or clean supply rooms – items should be removed and
placed on closed shelving or on pallets.
