Thank you for purchasing our Introduction to Biology homeschool course. We hope
your student will enjoy and profit from all that he learns during this fun, engaging class.
Teacher Eric Hovind will introduce each student to plant, animal, and human life. By the
end of this course, students should be familiar with the classification system, the importance
of plants, the different kinds of animals, and the basic systems of the human body.
Included in this document are outlines,
quizzes, and a final exam that coincide with
the lessons. During each lesson the student will complete a matching outline. In
classes two through six Eric will review for a quiz over
the previous class lesson. Pause the video and
take the corresponding quiz. Optional quizzes

Tips for Using CSE Science Curriculum
Tips for Using CSE Science Curriculum:
Tips for Recommended Grade Levels:
CSE Science is recommended for grades 4 through 8. Although these are all
introductory middle school science courses, they can benefit even younger and
older students – parents can sit in on a class and learn, too! Watching a CSE
science class can be a great way for the entire family to learn these important
scientific principles together.
Tips for Order of Classes:
Each of the science classes can stand alone – you may choose to do a full year
of CSE Science, or just a couple of courses each year. We have included a
year-long curriculum guide, which outlines 38 weeks of lessons. This is the
recommended order of classes:
• Biology
• Earth and Space
• Plumbing
• Physical Science
• Electricity
Tips for Watching the Sessions:
Each class session is approximately 45 to 60 minutes in length. Your student
can watch the entire session in one sitting, or you may choose to follow the yearlong curriculum guide, which incorporates one session and quiz each school
week. Your lesson plans will include 30 minute science classes on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays. There is a year-long curriculum guide included with
the curriculum.
Tips to Complete Paperwork:
Class outlines, quizzes, and tests may be printed for classroom use, or the
answers can be written on notebook paper.
Tips for Grading:
Most of the quizzes have ten questions. They can be scored on the scale of
“100” or by points. The final exams each have fifty questions. Each question is
worth 2 points. Again, the score will be based on the scale of “100”. Bonus
questions can be scored as the parent desires.
Tips for Co-op Classes
CSE science classes work perfectly for homeschool co-ops. The outlines,
quizzes, and tests can be copied for the entire class, and the class can watch a
session each week at co-op. A supervising teacher can administer the quizzes
and tests in class, or they can be given to be completed by the student at home.
