INVITATION LETTER to UIPM National Federations
The Portuguese Modern Pentathlon Federation is pleased to invite a delegation of your
country to participate in the LUSITANIA TROPHY INTERNATIONAL OPEN
CHAMPIONSHIPS MEN & WOMEN to be held in Lisbon (Mafra) – Portugal, from 30th
April to 1st May 2016.

RULES OF COMPETITION
The competition will be carried out according to the UIPM Rules and will take
place at Mafra, 30 Kms distance from Lisbon International Airport.
Facilities:
Swimming: 25m indoor swimming pool /6 lanes
Fencing: 8 pistes
Riding: Outdoors, athlete’s licence required.
Combined Event: laser targets (SIMPOWER)(compressed air will be available),
asphalt surface.
ACCOMMODATION
The teams will be staying at “Hotel Castelão” in Mafra.
TRANSPORT
Transportation from Lisbon International Airport to the official hotel and back, only
if the delegations facilitate and guarantee the information -Nº of flight, flight arrival
and departure terminal and number of people- in good time and before the
deadline.
The shuttle from the hotel to the competition venues for members of the
delegations will be according to the official program.
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
The invitation is for unlimited athletes and officials. Accreditation fee is 80
€/day/person single occupation and 70 €/day/person double/triple
occupation. It includes accommodation in 3*** Hotel with breakfast included,
packet lunch on competition days, dinner on Friday, Saturday & Sunday and full
local transportation.
Payment in cash - only in € - upon arrival.
ENTRY FORMS
We kindly ask you to send us the Entry Form A by 20th March 2016 and Final
Entry Form by April 10th 2016.

LICENSING OF ATHLETES
Athletes are only allowed to participate in UIPM sanctioned events if they are in
possession of a valid UIPM issued Athletes License. Entry Forms will not be
accepted if any athlete is missing his/her License Number. Please contact
immediately UIPM Headquarters if your athlete is missing his/her License.
INSURANCE
Under the rules of the UIPM, all members of the delegations should be insured.
In case of accidental injury or illness, the Organizer will not accept any liability.
VISAS AND VACCINES
The participating countries must confirm if needed, visa requirements and
vaccination for entry into Portugal.
The LOC can not accept responsibility for Visas ask, but can provide specific
letters of invitation if necessary.
FIREARMS
When enrolling inform the LOC models of guns and their serial numbers.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All athletes must wear their official uniform in the competition.
Laser targets (Simpower) will be provided by the LOC therefore the athletes are
required to bring their laser pistols.
Please also bring a CD with their national anthem and flag of your country.
Weather conditions: 18º-25º degrees Celsius in April / May.
