Malayalam New Year, a harvest festival, it all comes together to form 10 glorious days of feasting and
rejoicing.
Once there was a king called Mahabali and he led the people of Kerala in a golden era. It is believed
that every year he returns to bless his people on the 10th day of the festival, called ThiruOnam.
This year Thiruonam is on 7th September – our lovely Ayurvedagram is at its best; lush, green and
serene after the monsoon. The weather is beautiful as it always is in Bangalore…it’s a good time to
‘Heal with Ayurveda’!
Of course we plan to celebrate our Onam in the traditional way as far as possible, with flower-carpet
contests, dance performance, and on the day of Thiruonam, a grand OnamSadhya – a meal with 11-13
mandatory dishes served on a banana leaf, after a traditional pooja to clay mounds representing Lord
Vishnu and Mahabali in front of the pookalam or flower mandala.

1. For short stays between 1 to 10 nights, we will charge nothing at all for food. Our current rates are
inclusive of 3 daily meals and the price of these will be reduced from the total cost of stay.
2. For stays between 11 to 13 nights, we will extend 1 free night.
