Enjoy the
Beauty of France
A Paradise for lovers of gourmet meals, art and
history, France is in its landscape as it is in its
choice of food, culture and wine. From broad
sweeping beaches to ancient mountain peaks,
magnificent lakes to majestic rivers, France
can be charmingly rustic or glamorously
sophisticated.
Paris, the capital of romance, intoxicates
with its vibrancy, culture and sightseeing
opportunities. Away from the hum of the city,
the Picardy plains are filled with poppies and
chalk cliffs which shelter sandy beaches
steeped in the history of World War 11.
Normandy, also with a unique historic wealth,
has quaint thatched cottages, lush green fields
and sandy bays.
In Brittany the climate becomes milder,
making its one thousand miles of beautiful
coastline, with reefs, islands, wide bays and
sandy coves very appealing to lovers of all
things maritime. The warm climate and long
sandy beaches of the Vende´e make this a
wonderful seaside destination, its lively fishing
harbours home to cafes and restaurants,
serving delicious locally caught produce.
Fishermen further down the coast at Charente
Maritime, harvest mouth-watering oysters off
beautiful beaches, whilst inland brandy
connoisseurs are well catered for at the Cognac
distilleries. Meanwhile in the Loire nature
lovers are inspired by the lakes and forests of
this stunning area, which is home to some

magnificent Renaissance chaˆteaux and royal palaces.
Visitors to Les Landes enjoy its reliably sunny climate and beautiful dune-backed
beaches, the Atlantic rollers which wash these shores both invigorating and awe inspiring
for surfers and spectators alike. This cultural and historical area has much to interest and
inspire the visitor whilst the Spanish border is close enough to tempt travellers to explore.
Inland, the forests, vineyards and stunning scenery of the Dordogne also invite
exploration.
Further around the coast at the Coˆte dÕAzur, the glamorous resort of St. Tropez is
brimming with yachts and sophistication, perfect for people watching from a quayside
terrace cafe or for sunbathing on golden beaches lapped by deep blue Mediterranean
waters. Nice and Cannes also exude a cosmopolitan ambience, their wealth and charm a
magnet to visitors.
Alternatively, fashionable Biarritz provides wide promenades and sophisticated shops and
restaurants, its cosmopolitan ambience in sharp contrast with the rustic charm of the
nearby Basque region.
Inland the Arde`che region with its rivers, gorges, caves and canyons offers wonderful
opportunities for an adventure holiday, whilst the old towns and villages which lie along
the Ardeche River are rich in culture and history.
From Paris to St. Tropez, the Dordogne to the Arde`che, the choice is endless and the
potential for some wonderful experiences is vast on any holiday in France. Food, art,
history, landscapes and culture are the wealth of France, unique to each region and
readily available for all to savour who explore this beautiful country.
