ABOUT COLLEGE
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai,
an ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution, affiliated to
the Anna University is one among the several
educational and philanthropic institutions founded
by
Philanthropist and Industrialist Late. Shri.
Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar. It was established
in the year 1957 and granted Autonomy in the year
1987. TCE is funded by Central and State
Governments and Management. TCE offers Seven
Undergraduate Programmes, Eleven Postgraduate
Programmes
and
Doctoral
Programmes
in
Engineering, Sciences and Architecture. TCE is an
approved QIP centre for pursuing Ph.D.
programmes in Engineering. 87 Recognized
Research Supervisors are guiding around 350
research scholars for Ph.D. degree under Anna
University and other Universities. TCE has
collaborative / sponsored projects from AICTE,
UGC, DST, DRDO, BRNS, CSIR, MIT, MNRES, etc. and
interfaced with National / Multinational Industries.
TCE has won Performance Excellence Trophy in IMC
Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Awards, 2013
The aim of this faculty development training
program is to provide an extensive exposure to
faculty members handling the course CS6303 Computer Architecture in AICTE approved
engineering colleges Affiliated to Anna University.
DEPARTMENT
The FIST Supported Computer Science and
Engineering Department has Knowledge Engineering
as its theme area. The department has laboratories
supported by Microsoft, INTEL, TCS, HP and SUN.
The department has the privilege of having done
many R&D projects from RCI, AICTE, UGC, DIT and
DST. The department was a consortium partner of
CDBR-Smart and Secure Environment project
sponsored by NTRO, New Delhi. The department
has collaboration with Yahoo India, Adobe and CTS.
As a Prometric center, six International
Certification
programs
are
offered.
The
Department is responsible for design and
development of College Management Information
System which has received many National Level
Recognitions. The Department has experienced
faculty members with PhD’s and Publication in
National and International Journals.
