Plan for the day: Essential Question(s): What are characteristics do all organisms share? Learning Target(s): I can list and explain the 4 characteristics of all living organisms. 1. Students and teacher will go over the answers to the Conservation of Energy Unit Test. 2. Students and teacher will complete a TWL chart about living organisms. 3. Students and teacher will view and discuss a video to introduce plants as living things Plants Share the Characteristics of All Living Things 4. Students and teacher will take notes from the powerpoint and discuss the characteristics of all Tuesday 2/14/2017 living things. Homework: Study notes on classification of living organisms. Students and teacher will finish the discussion from yesterday about the characteristics of living organisms. 4. Students will plant seeds to observe during the unit. Wednesday 2/15/2017 Homework: Pick a living organism and explain how it demonstrates the 4 characteristics of all living organisms. Assessment: Teacher observation and questioning Integrated Technology: Smartboard Standard/Objective: 6.L.4A.2 Develop and use models to classify organisms base on the current hierarchical taxonomic structure (including the kingdoms of protists, plants, fungi, and animals). Plan for the day: Essential Question(s): How are living things classified? Learning Target(s): I can explain how living things are classified. 1. Students will complete science first five. 2. Students and teacher will go over their answers to homework. Teacher will correct any misconceptions. 3. Students and teacher will go over slides 13-27 and discuss how living things are classified into different levels. 4. Teacher will explain dichotomous keys to students. 5.
