RECOMMENDED ACCOMMODATION
At ESE we help our student upon their arrival in Madrid; you can address any questions
regarding your arrival or accommodation options in Madrid to our Student Services Officer.
Although ESE does not provide housing options to its students, we will be glad to help you as
you search for accommodation in Madrid. We can provide you information of a range of
housing agencies (some English speaking), residences and other alternatives. It is
recommended that students start their search for a flat in advance as Madrid is a popular city
and finding accommodation can be quite difficult, especially if you are not in Madrid.
You may perhaps be interested in sharing an apartment with a friend or other students. If you
do, we can put you in contact with other ESE students who are also searching for an apartment
or flat mate.
ESE would like to inform its students that, we have agreements regarding accommodations

For students who wish to find apartments on their own, here is some basic
information about housing in Madrid:
In Madrid you will generally find three types of accommodation:
(i) Student Residence housing ( “Colegio Mayor” or “Residencia Universitaria”). These are
usually for undergraduate students between the ages of 18-22 and will require
that you show your transcripts and proof of enrolment. Most are located in the
Ciudad Universitaria and Moncloa neighborhoods close to the large public
universities, but others are located closer to the ESE Madrid Campus. The majority
are women or men-only dormitories, but there are some co-ed.
Student Residences in the Barrio de Salamanca: http://www.qype.es/es300madrid-barrio-de-salamanca/categories/530-residencias-universitarias-in-barriode-salamanca
(ii) Apartments for Rent. Students can rent an apartment by themselves or with another
classmate or roommate. Students will generally need some sort of bank guarantee
and security deposit.
(iii) Room for Rent. Students can rent a room in an apartment and share the common
areas with other flat mates.

fraudulent but there are certain things you can do to stay safe, of course, if
you are ever unsure you can ask us bus make sure you don´t pay any
money by Western Union, Ebay or PayPal, if anybody asks for you to pay
that way, don’t use them.
Do not deal with anybody who says they are away from the property and you can´t view it or
of somebody who wants you to pay courier fees to have a key delivered to you.
