Program Lead/Emcee
One Sentence Description: This person works closely with the camp director to lead camp
programming by providing leadership to the program team and by emceeing camp activities.
Full Description: The Program Lead/Emcee works closely with the camp director to ensure that the
summer camp ministry is successful. This person is in leadership for the entire program team.
S/he ensures that all other members of the program team are fulfilling their key responsibilities
and working together as a team. This person will also be the “face” of camp, and must be
comfortable in front of groups of people. The program lead/emcee needs to show a high level
of maturity, communication, flexibility, and creativity. Previous camp experience is not
required, but is helpful.
Key Responsibilities:
 Lead by example in the areas of personal spiritual disciplines (namely Bible reading and
prayer), positive attitude, and service to others.
 Emcee the chapel time with opener games/skits/etc. and any closing instructions.
 Be present at all major programmed events (games, parties, etc.) during camp.
 Ensure that all members of the program team are fulfilling their key responsibilities.
 Consistently pray for (and with, when appropriate) each individual member of the program
team.
 Write and coordinate skits (they do not have to be original).
 Meet regularly with the leadership team of camp.
 Mealtime dismissal.
 Perform other duties as assigned by the camp director.
 As much as possible maintain appropriate and positive relationships with all camp staff.
 Attend all morning meetings.
 Be willing to lead a time focused on spiritual matters (devotion, morning workshop, prayer
time, personal testimony, etc.).
 Have a good time, be goofy, and spread camp silliness.
