Patty, Maria and Tere pose on Casa Del Rey’s front lawn as Linda looks on. Anyone for a mud pie? Jeremiah, Camila and Linda are cooking up some interesting flavors … ’ll never forget the day we opened Casa Del Rey. It was our Wedding Anniversary. Our daughter Cindy and her family had come to visit. Naturally we took them across the border to see the work … well, what there was of it. There were no children yet, although we had a building, house parents and a cook. While we were showing our family around, a car pulled into the driveway. Out stepped Brother Jesús Presciado, a local pastor in Piedras Negras. With him were two little boys, Tony and Manuel. “Are you open?” he asked. “The father of these boys is incarcerated and their mother passed away recently. The neighbors have been caring for them, but they can no longer do so. They have six children of their own.” He explained. “Are you open?” he asked again. “We are now!” Bob and I beamed. Later we mused, “Isn’t it thrilling that we would open the home on our Wedding Anniversary with two little boys brought to us by a Pastor named Jesús?” How awesome! Only God could have done that! More children soon followed, and by October 1986 we had wall‐to‐wall beds and a house full of children. Even today, our house is seldom quiet! Children laugh and play, act naughty and nice, come and go, but all We mourned the loss of our enjoy the love and hope that only Jesus, the Great leader, Bob King, in May, 2007, six days prior to Casa Del Rey’s Pastor and Shepherd of our souls, can bring. st

Fabiola, Angelica and baby Pedro … Fabiola and her husband Pedro head up the Outreach in Jiménez. Faby grew up in Casa Del Rey. This picture of Bob and me was In the succeeding years, in addition to Casa Del Rey, taken Christmas 1998. the ministry has grown to include a home in Piedras Negras, a home in Jiménez, a home in Gómez Palacio, a church in Piedras Negras, a church in Gómez Palacio, and several growing outreaches. Today, the Outreach Program at Rancho Jovenes Del Rey (boys’ ranch) is growing, and we will soon be building a church. We are looking for a place in Jiménez in which to hold services as well as serve as a feeding center. Fabiola and Pedro oversee this outreach and serve as house parents at the ranch. Pray for us as this work continues to grow. Every two weeks, our young people travel to Barroterán, a small town located two hours away from Piedras Negras, to minister. Salvations and healings are being reported. Soon we will look for property on which to build a church. (over)
