This annual show and competition is presented by the Arts, Culture & Museum Committee
and is free to enter and available to all Niagara Falls residents. Artists must register in

Tax Clinics
Free tax clinics will take place at the Niagara Falls Public Library throughout March, provided
by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. Eligibility requirements must be met to

Niagara Falls Public Library will also hold a one day Community Volunteer Income Tax
Program Clinic on Wednesday, March 29th. Registration for that clinic and others throughout
the city is available through the 211 service starting on February 1st.
Rosberg Gallery
The Rosberg Gallery at the Victoria Avenue Library features month long exhibitions of visual
art from the Niagara Region, as well as special traveling exhibits. Upcoming exhibits feature:

Archives of Ontario Travelling Exhibits at Victoria Avenue Library
Throughout 2017 Niagara Falls Public Library will be hosting travelling exhibits from the
Archives of Ontario. Each month will feature a different exhibit - be sure to see them all.
March - Enslaved Africans in Upper Canada
Produced in partnership with the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, this exhibit details
lives of enslaved Africans, and focuses on the actions they took to resist their servitude.
April - Family Ties: Ontario Turns 150
Discover how the lives of four family groups in Ontario during the Confederation Era
intersected with larger historical forces, and how genealogy can bring you into intimate
contact with the past!
May - The Promotion of Healthy Living in Ontario
The government of Ontario has always tried to help Ontarians live longer, healthier lives. This
exhibit explores the history of health promotion in Ontario.

The Lundy’s Lane Historical Society is the second oldest organization of its kind in
Ontario. The Society was founded to stimulate interest in the history of Niagara Falls,

Battle of the Books
Celebrate TD Canadian Children’s Book Week (May 6th - May 13th) by voting in our Battle
of the Books. Starting April 18th, check out our website, Facebook or Twitter each week to
see which books are battling, and vote for your favourite. Winners will be announced on
Fridays, with the ultimate champion announced on Friday, May 12th.

Bouncin’ Babytime
For the youngest babies and their adult
caregivers. If you’re not yet walking and
talking, this is the program for you! Come and
have fun with music, rhymes, tickles and
bounces. Bring a blanket and let us introduce
you and your baby to a variety of board books
and activities.

Just for Tots
For babies who are walking and talking and
their adult caregivers. Join us for songs,
stories, music and activities.
30 minutes. Registration is required.
Time for 2s and 3s
For toddlers and preschoolers ready for a
longer, more active program and their adult
caregivers. Develop pre-literacy skills with
books, songs, games, rhymes, movies, crafts
and creative play.
45 minutes. Registration is required.
Family Storytime
For children of all ages and their adult
caregivers. Develop pre-literacy skills with
books, songs, games, rhymes, movies, crafts
and creative play. Please register all
participating children - babes in arms do not
require registration.

Cocoa Club
Ages 8+. Need a break after school? Want to
relax, unwind and enjoy a good cup of hot
chocolate? Join us for our great read-aloud
chapter book program. You bring the mug and
your imagination. We will provide the hot

Interlibrary Loans
If NFPL doesn’t have what you’re looking for, ask us
about requesting material from another library
system through Interlibrary Loan. This service is
free unless the library lending the material charges
for the loan, in which case the fee charged by the
lending library will be passed along to the customer.
In that case the customer will be notified ahead of
time. You can submit a request online through our
website or in person at any NFPL location.
Lucky Day Loans
Get your hands on a hot book or DVD
fast with Lucky Day Loans. These extra
copies of hot titles cannot be renewed or
reserved and are only available at the
Victoria Avenue Library. The loan period
is 7 days for books and 2 days for DVDs.
Late fees for Lucky Day Loans are $1.00
per day per book and $2.00 per DVD.

Multilingual Collections
NFPL offers access to books and DVDs
in over a dozen languages through the
rotating Southern Ontario Multilingual
Pool. Materials are currently offered in
Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French,
German, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian,
Italian, Japanese, Korean, Panjabi,
Polish, Russian, Serbian, Spanish,
Tagalog, Tamil, Urdu and Vietnamese at
the Victoria Avenue Library. Please
