Fall 2015 Bulb and Perennial Sale

OUR FALL SALE WILL BE HELD AT VERRILL FARM, 11 WHEELER RD,
CONCORD. (The spring sale will remain at the 4H Fairgrounds in Westford). Check out
their wonderful selection of produce and bakery items when you pick up your order!
Place your order by August 31 (mail in the order form with a check, or order online at
middlesexconservation.org). Pick up your order on 9/18 (3-6pm) or 9/19 (8am – noon) at Verrill Farm.

‘Hillside Black Beauty’ is an elegant selection of black cohosh, a native woodland perennial. It forms a clump of beautiful burgundy black foliage
3’ tall with spikes of fragrant flowers in September reaching to 5’. The flowers open dark pink and age to white. (Hint: cohosh is late to emerge in
spring so mark its location). We order these in spring and grow them on for you, so you will receive a larger, well established plant. Limited
quantity, order early!

We need volunteers to help with the sale and on the day before - please email [email protected] if you
are interested in volunteering. (Hours are Thursday 9/17, 9:30 – noon; Friday 9/18, 2:45 pm – 6pm; Saturday 9/19, 7:45
am – 12:30pm)
We cannot accept claims for shortages or unsatisfactory plants after you have left the sale, but you may exchange
any item you are dissatisfied with at pickup.

Partner with other agencies and organizations to solve natural resource concerns
Co-sponsor and help organize the Massachusetts Envirothon, an environmental competition challenging
high school students with real-life natural resource problem-solving situations
Sponsor workshops
Provide soil map information of Middlesex County cities and towns
Assist residents with natural resource questions.
Promote local agriculture.
