NEW COUNSELOR AT EC
There is a new counselor in the
counseling office. Ms. Besso has
joined the Eagle counseling
staff. We are excited to have
another set of hands to serve
our students. If you see Ms.
Besso around campus, give her
a warm eagle welcome. There
will be a slight adjustment to the
counselor case loads. Ms.
Vanalfen now has students with
last names A-D. Ms. Besso has
E-J. Ms. Mackey has K-Q and
Mr. Ahlgren has R-Z.
EPI STUDENTS
EPI Students: This Friday during
6th period is the EPI Celebration! Check in with your 6th period teacher, then go to the cafeteria. Feel free to bring snacks
and drinks to enjoy and share.
Also, don’t forget: EPI long
sleeve tees and hoodie orders
are due Friday. $15 for the long
sleeve t-shirts and $20 for the
hoodies. Don’t miss out on the
new Top Ten List (especially
#7)! Pay Mrs. Riggs in room 60.
Checks should be made out to
“Club Tech”.
SOFTBALL CONDITIONING
If you are interested in playing
Softball, conditioning started on
Jan 16th and will continue everyday until Feb 3rd. Catcher and
Pitcher tryouts will start on Mon,
Jan 30th and all other tryouts will
start on Feb 6th . Make sure you
turn in all athletic
paperwork to the Athletics Office before
you come to conditioning or tryouts.
PTSA SCHOLARSHIPS
Seniors, PTSA Scholarship
Applications may be picked up
now in the principal’s office.
Many scholarships are available
to seniors with a minimum 3.0
GPA. Completed applications
must be returned by February
28th.
JOIN CSF/ NHS
Only one more week to join the
California Scholarship Federation and the National Honor
Society! Current sophomores,
juniors, and seniors are eligible. Applications are available
in Mr. Marshall’s room (Room
69). This Friday, January, 27,
is the last day applications will
be accepted for the spring
semester.
MOCK SAT EXAM AT EC
Students in all grades interested in taking a mock SAT practice test at El Camino, please
sign up to attend on Saturday,
February 11th from 9:00 am12:30 pm. The cost is $25.00.
Checks can be made out to El
Camino High School PTSA.
Please pick up a registration
form in the Principal’s office.
Deadline to register is February
5th.
DERREK LEE SCHOLARSHIP
If you have a weighted GPA of
3.35 or higher and have participated in at least one year of
varsity-level sports, pick up a
Derrek Lee Scholarship application in the Principal’s office.
One female and one male recipient will be awarded $5000.
Applications are due to the Principal’s Secretary by 3 pm on
Friday, March 3rd.

SCHOLARSHIP
The Captain Schultz
Scholarship applications are
now available in the
Principal’s office. Seniors
must maintain a cumulative
GPA of 3.5 or better. The
scholarship is $500 and the
deadline is Wednesday,
March 1 at 3:00 pm in the
Principal’s office. Don’t miss
