6-sided die
index cards

3 sheets of paper labeled 0, _

10-sided die (optional)
What To Do
Work with a partner.
1 Lay the papers labeled with 0, _
​ 2 ​,  and 1 in a straight line

with equal spaces between them. This is your number line.
2 Roll the die twice to make a numerator and denominator.
Make the larger number the denominator.
3 Write the fraction on an index card.
4 Place your fraction where you think it belongs

between or on the 0, _
​ 2 , ​ or 1.
5 Repeat Steps 1–4 until you have placed at least
six fractions on the number line.
