Emmanuel College
Founded in 1919 by the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de
Namur, Emmanuel College is the oldest Catholic women's college in
New England. The four 'year liberal arts college, located on a beautiful
16-acre residential campus along the Fenway, is part of the life of the
city of Boston. From its English Gothic administration building, the
campus has grown to include an extensive library, three dormitories, a
science center, student union, and campus shop. Currently, the college
has an enrollment of 1200 students, comprised of undergraduate,
graduate, and continuing education students. In order to meet the needs
of today's students, Emmanuel College has initiated many new educational programs and has maintained its commitment to a high standard
of scholarship.

Ring Prayer
o Emmanuel, we ask your blessings as we gather before You today and
receive our Emmanuel rings. We ask that the ring become a symbol of
this time in our lives - a time when we attempt to define in ourselves
the meaning of woman and strive to further the humanization of the
world. Knowing our gratitude for all that has been given us may we find
a means to express our appreciation to our parents and our friends for
helping to make us what we are today. Sharing a Christian concern for
all that is True and Real, may we see beyond the limits of self and respond with a tenderness and enthusiasm to all that is important to us
and the ones we love. May our education here contribute to the fullness
of our womanhood, making us aware of our responsibility to love, to
learn, to give. May the spirit of Christ be created in us so that we may
witness to the world a firm assurance of Emmanuel, God with us.
