Meet Clock House station BR3 4HJ (National Rail) 1030hrs, ends Coombe Lane (Tramlink). Led by Des. Continuing our journey on London’s newest strategic walking route from Parliament Square through the magnificent Royal Parks to the picturesque canalside around Paddington. 6.5km/4 miles, 2½ hours. Meet Westminster station SW1A 2JR 1030hrs, ends Warwick Avenue (both Underground). Led by Des. Sunday 3 February Sole Street, Cobham and Luddesdown An easy jaunt just outside London through country parks, pretty villages and a fascinating new community woodland on the edge of the North Downs, followed by optional pub lunch. 8km/5 miles, 3 hours. Saturday 9 February Surrey Canal and Southwark Park A fascinating walk including hidden remnants of the old Surrey Canal, the new East London Line and Southwark Park, ending on the Thames. Joint walk with Lewisham Walking for Health. 6km/3¾ miles, 2.5 hours. Meet New Cross station SE14 6LD (Overground/National Rail) 1000hrs, ends Rotherhithe (Overground). Led by Des. Sunday 3 March Delightful Deptford, Glorious Greenwich Not just the glories of Greenwich Park and the World Heritage Site but the hidden heritage of Deptford and the river Ravensbourne on an eye opening urban stroll. 6.5km/4 miles, 2½ hours. Meet Cutty Sark DLR (station, not ship!) SE10 9EJ 1030hrs, circular. Led by Des. Sunday 5 May Two Docklands Farms Our first contribution to Get Walking Week is an agricultural walk in inner London, including Mudchute and Surrey Docks farms, the Greenwich foot tunnel, a ferry crossing, old docks and Canary Wharf! Great walk for children too. Note ferry fare payable, currently £3.50 full price. Take a snack or sandwich as there’s plenty to look at and we’ll take it slowly. 8km/5 miles, 3 hours. Meet Cutty Sark DLR (station, not ship!) SE10 9EJ 1030hrs, finishes at Canada Water station. Led by Des. Saturday 11 May Exploring Stoke Newington Also in Get Walking Week, an unusual and thought provoking walk including parts of the Lee Valley Park and the pretty parks and intriguing streetscape of Stoke Newington. 8km/5 miles, 3 hours. Meet Seven Sisters station N15 5LA 1030hrs (National Rail/Underground), ends Dalston Junction (Overground). Led by David. How to join in. No need to book – just turn up.
