Cheesecake Burlesque Revue

The
CHEESECAKE
BURLESQUE REVUE
It is my great pleasure to endorse the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue. I have now worked with this amazing and talented bunch
of performers several times, and have found them excellent to work with. There truly is a hole in the market for “girls night
out” performances that are created both for women and by women. Tickets sold very well on both occasions, making this an
extremely effective fundraising opportunity. Audience reaction was phenomenally enthusiastic, with non-stop applause,
cheering and screaming from the moment the show began right through to the immediate and thunderous standing ovations.
Michael Cade, Executive Director, Chilliwack Cultural Centre
I just wanted to thank you and the troupe for an amazing experience for not just me, but for many people in Invermere. I received
many calls and emails yesterday from participants and guests. Everyone who attended some part of the weekend had such rave
reviews on the experience. And requests that we bring the troupe back again!!
Jami Scheffer, Columbia Valley Arts Council
What is the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue?
The Cheesecakes are multiple award-winners who have dazzled and delighted in Las Vegas, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, Seattle,
Helsinki, Paris, Stockholm, Rome, and Berlin, as well as all across Canada! Armed with a sassy-silliness and a g-force of glitter, these girls
pack a sparkly punch that will make your heart happy and leave you loving the skin you’re in! With influences from cult classics like Priscilla
Queen of the Desert to Broadway favourites like Guys and Dolls to imaginative roller coasters like their original Cheesecakes In Space, these
girls know how to put on the modern day show-stopper! The Cheesecakes are known for their high-energy acts, standout performers,
comedic timing, steamy seductiveness and girl-next-door accessibility.
Who is the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue?
The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue is a group of talented professionals in their own right coming together to embrace the fastest rising entertainment movement in North America! In 2006, these ladies came together with the desire to create an environment where they could
cast off the shackles of their 9-5 jobs and have some silly, sparkly fun. Any civil servant, art teacher, veterinary technician, environmental
consultant, or student you meet, may have been out the night before entertaining a crowd, performing for fundraisers, or helping add
some sass to an event. The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue has repeatedly booked sold out shows in theatres across British Columbia and
Alberta.
What else does the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue do?
The Cheesecakes are out to prove that everyone is sexy no matter what age, shape, or size they are! The ladies love to connect with people
after their shows, and often teach women-only burlesque workshops in addition to their performances. During these workshops, the
Cheesecakes get the chance to share their love for the art form in a fun, safe, and inclusive place.
Who is the audience?
Burlesque audiences are a very diverse group and the Cheesecake’s are no different! A wide range of ages and backgrounds enjoy the
shows, with the largest fan base consisting of couples, and women of all ages from 20s to 70s. Audiences easily identify with the performers, and can find out more about their favourites on the Cheesecake website!

What the Cheesecakes can do for YOU!
Cheesecake shows are vaudevillian-style variety shows, with
dancing, singing, and comedy all centred around the classic art
form of striptease! They have show-stopping group acts and
scintillating solos in a range of styles - from classic to contemporary, and comedic to sultry. With their large repertoire, they
can constantly bring new acts on their touring show, or one of
their full-length seasonal shows for Halloween, Christmas, and
Valentines. And they can always tailor something for a specific
theme (e.g., Mardi Gras, Speakeasy, Gatsby, Casino, International
Women’s Day, or you name it!) They are perfectly suited as a
fundraising event for your arts councils, women’s groups, Pride
organizations, or other non-profit societies in your community.
The Cheesecakes can create a show just for you!

Char / Nelson
“Exactly what the doctor ordered! The Cheesecake Revue was the best adult entertainment I’ve experienced.”
Lee / Prince Rupert
The ladies of the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue brought their unique brand of entertainment to the Lester Centre of the Arts, giving the
audience a glimpse into the world of burlesque. They mixed song, dance, comedy and plenty of skin into a two-hour tour de force that
had the audience screaming with every unhooked bra, laughing out loud and hollering for more. As much as the show was about fun and
entertainment, it was also about sending a message: Everyone is beautiful, and everyone should be proud of their bodies.
Shawn Thomas, The Northern View / Prince Rupert
The Cheesecakes strive to increase body confidence and sexual confidence of their audience, and they certainly succeeded. Every woman
walked out of the Surrey Arts Centre that night with a smile on her face, a strut in her step, and in many cases, some pasties in her purse. I
wasn’t sure what to expect, and who would be appropriate to bring along as a guest (a date? a co-worker? my mom?). While male audience
members were certainly welcome and seemed to enjoy themselves, I ended up inviting my Mom as my guest and she had a great time.
Next time the Cheesecakes come to town I will return, with a group of girlfriends, and maybe even my grandmother in tow.
Cassie Silva, Review Vancouver / Vancouver
This group, however, incorporates much of the old satirical or extravaganza elements of the old style burlesque, but with their own modern
twist. … almost all of the acts were not simply stripteases, but dance performances with a story. The variety aspect of burlesque extended
to the stories being told in the dances, the singing acts that joined in, and the different body types on stage. There were performances that
could elicit laughter, tears, and surprise—all in a few seconds. … I got to see both magic (well, pranks) and singing in a span of three burlesque acts in ways I never expected. After the show, I felt a little let down because it was over, but I’m confident that as they travel through
Europe, the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue will keep the art of true burlesque alive.
