Terms of Employment: 12 Months (This position sunsets at the conclusion of the grant period).

NATURE OF WORK: The SIG Coordinator, in conjunction with the school leader and staff, will
be responsible for the timely implementation of the time-line of activities presented in the grant.
The SIG Coordinator is expected to collaborate with School level Administrators, District Level
Administrators, External Providers, Professional Development Coordinators, Coaches and other
identified parties to assure the plan is implemented with fidelity. It is necessary for the
Coordinator to be proficient in using technology, data collection and analysis to provide the
proper oversight in this process.

statistical data for trends and to develop strategies for improvement. Ability to represent the
district at state and regional functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties may be assigned.
 Provide a professional and collaborative work relationship and leadership oversight among
schools and district departments in the performance of the SIG requirements and
completion of deliverables;
 Work collaboratively with the District and School’s SIG Committee; Analyze performance
data associated with all grant projects and deliverables;
 Attend state and regional technical assistance meetings relating to SIG;
 Maintain records and procedures specific to grant for compliance purposes;
 Coordinate and administer the activities as outlined in SIG application;
 Manage NC Star and complete all required reports and Federal deliverables for the grant in
a timely manner;
 Work collaboratively with the Professional Development Team in planning, organizing and
delivering professional development as specified in the grant;
 Coordinate efforts with the Technology Department to ensure progress of data systems
required by the grant deliverables;
 Gather data annually and longitudinally to assess student achievement and program
effectiveness targets;
 Provide monthly formative and summative updates to the Director of Federal Programs for
Instruction on grant activities and other pertinent data;







Systematically reviews success on the achievement of the targets to provide feedback to the
schools for instructional decision-making and to monitor student learning.
Collect perception data from staff, parents, students and other stakeholders in the district.
Ensure that evidence of the LEA’s approval to ensure the appropriate use of funds to fully and
effectively implement the requirements of the grant.
Provide meeting agendas to show that transformational efforts were discussed and shared
with all stakeholders.
Monitor budget and create PO’s for items identified in the grant.
Research additional funding opportunities to assist in sustaining the grant initiatives;
Attend training sessions, conferences and workshops, as assigned, to acquire and retain
knowledge of state and federal legislation, district requirements in conjunction with NCDPI
policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
 Master's Degree preferred with Certification in Educational Administration, Supervision or
Leadership is preferred;
 BS in Education required.
 Applicant must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in teaching or administration.
Previous experience in supervising others and project management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and
statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to
apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills - Familiarity with basic computer operation and software. Ability to learn
various computer operations required for management of student information and integration of
technology in classroom instruction.
Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required
to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must
occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds (school supplies, books, files, papers, etc.). Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust

Performance in this position will be evaluated regularly by the supervisor in accordance with
Board Policy.
