1. Background and Capability of Srer Khmer
Srer Khmer means Field of Cambodia, a local NGO dedicated to the support of sustainable socio-economic
development through research, training, education and community development by promoting
participatory learning, farmer-led activities, farmers networking, sustainable agriculture, and natural
resources management.
VISION
Farming communities and community development workers must have the capacity, rights and
ownership in making decision on any issues that are relevant to sustain their living.
MISSION
Srer Khmer, in recognition of farmers' rights and community development workers to learn, use and
manage their own community resources and participate in any decision related to their livelihood, is
committed to providing farmers opportunities to gain knowledge and strengthen their capacity to lead
and manage their lives through participatory learning approaches which build on understanding the
fundamental relationship between agriculture, environment and rural societies.
GOAL
Farmers and community development workers having increased control of their lives based on a mastery
of ecological and social knowledge and skill.
To achieve this mission and goal, Srer Khmer works in close cooperation with relevant farmers groups,
government institutions and other NGOs based on the values of honesty, equity, positive encouragement,
gender equity and responsibility. Specially, Srer Khmer works with Farmer Trainers as main partners in
developing broad farmer-to-farmer training activities in the areas of ecological agriculture and livelihood
related issues. Farmer Trainers have played an important role in organizing farmer meetings and followup training activities. Key government district IPM trainers have been contacted to support these
activities as a technical advisor to Farmer Trainers.
2. Establishment, Legal Status and Award
Srer Khmer was established and registered with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of
Cambodia and the local authorities on January 9, 2002 by a group of former staff of FAO Community IPM
Program. The FAO project started in Cambodia in 1996 and ended in late 2001, therefore, to continue the
activity of community based integrated pest management (IPM) Farmer Field Schools, a proven approach
to successful ecological learning and farmer networking, Srer Khmer was the response to the need to
further build on the work of FAO and facilitate the work of farmers-led activities.
Srer Khmer is certified by NGO Code Compliance Committee of NGO Good Governance and Professional
Practices (NGO GPP) to award the NGO good practices project certificate since February 2009. This award
meant that NGO GPP recognizes and appreciates Srer Khmer's efforts in complying with all standards and

3. Organizational Structure and Management
The basic elements of Srer Khmer's organizational structure and the management are as follows:

A Board of Directors which oversees and sets policy including Srer Khmer Statutes, Personnel
Policy, Financial Policy for the organization, meets every four months to monitor Srer Khmer’s
activities and give feedback to the Executive Director who is responsible to the Board. The current
Board has seven members and have 3 times meeting per year. However, the extraordinary
meetings can call from any members if necessary take action on urgent matters should the need
arise.

The Executive Director is responsibility for all day-to-day activities, programs, projects and staff.

The Management Committee consists of the Executive Director, Programme Manager and the
Admin/Finance Manager has the role of coordinating and assisting the Executive Director with
day-to-day activities.

The Technical Coordination Committee (TCC) consisted of Executive Director, Programme
Manager, Programme Officers, Project Managers and Admin/Finance Unit. TCC has the role of
providing inputs on technical issues. TCC has at least 2 times meeting per year to set technical
guideline for Srer Khmer.
4. Staffing
At the moment, Srer Khmer has more than 23 full time staff members including technical staff, support
staff and graduate (intern) trainees. Most of them were based in the project based in the provinces. Eight
(08) of them are women. Currently, Srer Khmer also has 02 Volunteer from Australian Volunteers to assist
with program/organization development who are based in Phnom Penh head office. Srer Khmer used to
have some 11 Australian Volunteers from AVI, VIDA and AYAD to work with us from the past to support
project-based in the provinces and to support on institutional strengthen with the management
committee. Apart from this, Srer Khmer hosted internship for several students from University of
Washington, Brigham Young University, and University of Melbourne.
Apart from staff, we also have a network of well-trained farmer trainers/farmer promoters at the
provincial, district, commune, and village levels where we can call upon for providing training at their
respective communities.

6. How Srer Khmer Works
Srer Khmer works based on project by project from donor/s guided by our strategic plan 2011 – 2015.
Srer Khmer run projects with effectiveness and efficiency. Our administration cost is low and operational
costs are met with the target clients/beneficiaries. Srer Khmer runs projects in 12 provinces without
having any vehicle since the inception of the organization.
Our management and technical staff members hold at least University degree in agriculture and equip
with just necessary equipments such as motor-bike and laptop to deliver a high quality services with
professional manners.

At the end of this year, Srer Khmer will be developing Srer Khmer strategic plan for 2017 to 2021.
Srer Khmer plays a role as capacity builder nation-wide. Training on topics related to FFS/post-FFS, FLS,
Socio-economic analysis, living soil, integrated homestead production, insect ecology, farmer association
management, business planning, participatory marketing study, project management, participatory
monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, Training of Trainers, and other topics related
ecological agriculture and community/rural development, etc., Participatory research and analysis and
Project review and evaluation .
8. Project Approaches
Srer Khmer works in close cooperation with relevant farmers groups, government institutions and other
NGOs based on the values of honesty, equity, positive encouragement, gender equity and responsibility.
Specially, Srer Khmer works with Farmer Trainers as main partners in developing broad farmer-to-farmer
training activities in the areas of ecological agriculture and livelihood related issues. Farmer Trainers have
played an important role in organizing farmer meetings and follow-up training activities. Key government
district trainers have been contacted to support these activities as a technical advisor to Farmer Trainers.
After receiving training either through Farmer Filed School (FFS) or a series of short training, farmers are
trained to develop their individual action plan for livelihood improvement for the next season.

9. Project Accomplishments to date
By the end of 2015, we accumulated up to 800 Farmer Associations in 800 villages, 130 communes of 65
districts in 14 provinces (Kandal; Kampong Cham; Kampong Thom, Prey Veng, SvayRieng, Takeo;
Kampong Speu; Pursat, Battambang; Pailin, Siem Reap , Steung Treng, Ratannak Kiri and Banteay
Meanchey). Srer Khmer has delivered a wide range of farmer led training to more than 53,787 farmers
(48% of whom were women), farmer trainers and Government District Trainers (about 200,935 farmers
family beneficiaries)
In the year 2016, Srer Khmer has some 14 projects in 06 provinces in the fields of agricultural production,
food security, natural resources management, farm genetic diversity, women's empowerment, community
development, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene, Farmer Association/Self-Help Group formation and
management. Our current financial supporters and clients for 2016 are included Cambodia HARVEST,
Oxfam, Heifer International, NPA, CAFOD, Caritas France, PLAN International in Cambodia, Agrisud and
SEARICE.
10. Project management experience, monitoring and evaluation capacity
Project Implementation
Normally, full time project staffs are hired based on project requirements, their educational background,
experiences and motivation. The project staff members are the agronomists that work closely with
beneficiaries, local authorities and government stakeholders. All project staff prepares monthly project
action plans and budgets based on agreed project requirements. The project staff members will work
under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager the cost of whom is shared by the project. The
overall responsibility for the project is with the Executive Director.
Project Progress Report
Srer Khmer will submit project progress reports to the donor on a monthly basis and/or a three months
basis (quarterly basis) or as required. All project staff must submit their achievement report to Senior
Program Manager in monthly basis, the Senior Program Manager is responsible to compile and elaborate
on project progress in a report submitted to Executive Director for review and submission to the
supporting agency (donor). Srer Khmer covers all projects in its annual report and at the end of a project
produces a report which captures all the lessons learnt during the duration of the project.
Project Monitoring and Evaluation
The internal project monitoring and evaluation is routinely conducted every three months by the Srer
Khmer program team which consists of Executive Director, Senior Program Manager, Senior Program
Officers and Finance Manager together with Project staff. The results based monitoring and evaluation is
the main tool for conducting internal project monitoring and evaluation of each project using a
participatory approach in which project beneficiaries and local authorities are also involved in the
process. The external project evaluation is normally conducted by independent consultants with a
contract based on Srer Khmer procedures or by the donor/s and is normally conducted at the end of the
project.
10. Capability and experience of managing and accounting for grants
As already stated, Srer Khmer has had experience managing, delivering and accounting for some 70
projects to the satisfaction of the donors. Srer Khmer has the necessary protocols and procedures to
manage and account for small and large projects with a professional manner.

ON GOING PROJECTS – 2016
1.
Improving Income and Nutrition through Community Empowerment in Pouk District (INCOME
III) -in sub-contracted by Heifer International in Cambodia. Srer Khmer implements this project
aimed to improving livelihoods and food security of 1,000 vulnerable and marginalized families
through pro-poor wealth creating swine and poultry value chains in Pouk district, Siem Reap
province for a period of 44 months starting from 1 November 2015 to 30 June 2019.
2.
Enhance Sanitation and Hygiene in rural community for better livelihood in Kampong Thom
province- through partnership with PLAN International in Cambodia. Srer Khmer implemented a
project in 100 villages, 10 communes in Kampong Svay and Prasat Sambour districts of Kampong
Thom Province. The project goal is to promote context-based sustainable practices in improved
hygiene with focus on consistent use of improved latrines, hand-washing with soap at critical times,
drinking only safe water and environmental hygiene in rural communities to increase hygiene
outcomes through changed sanitation behavior a period of 30 months starting from 15 February
2016 to 31July 2018.
3.
School and Community Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (SC-WASH) in Pursat Provinces - through
partnership with CAFOD in Cambodia, Srer Khmer is implementing a project in 08 villages, Srer
Sdock communes of Kandieng district in Pursat Province for a period of 18 months starting from 15
February 2016 to 31July 2018.

Socio-Economic Empowerment of Rural Communities (SEE-RC) - supported by CAFOD Cambodia
and Caritas France a period from 1 August 2016 to 31 July 2019 .The project aimed for
strengthening and improved project carry out in community target area of vulnerable rural
households in Siem Reap Provinces .
5.
Livelihoods Empowerment and Development (LEAD) Project: - is implemented by Srer Khmer
working together with BanteaySrei through the support financial by NPA and CAFOD, for a period
from 1 March, 2016 to 30 April 2017.The project aimed for strengthening capacity of Banteay Srei
staff, vulnerable women and their families to improve livelihoods and increase resilience of the
impact of climate change and natural disasters in Siem Reap and Battambang Provinces
6.
Diversification of Peri-urban Agriculture in Siem Reap – in sub-contracted by Agrisud
International with the financial support of Conseil Général des Hauts-de-Seine (French Department)
Srer Khmer implements this project aimed to support the project targets small farmers and aims to
improve farming techniques, crop diversification, and agricultural products marketing. This project
is for a period of one year until December 2016 and possible extension.
7.
Livelihood Improvement for Farmer Enterprises (LIFE) in Pursat and Kampong Speu Province, supported by Oxfam America, a period from 1 July 2015 to 31 July 2017 and possible extension as
three years. This project aimed to empower smallholder and ethnic minority farmers to improve
livelihoods under climate change vulnerabilities of Kampong Speu and Pursat provinces.
8.
Savings to Improve Landless Farmer’s Livelihood (SILL) - supported by Oxfam America. This
project is implemented in Takeo and Kampong Speu provinces for 28 months starting from 1st
January 2015 until 31 July 2017.
9.
Participatory Project Design and Result-Based Management - supported by CAFOD Cambodia, a
period from 1 February 2016 to 31 July 2016 .The project aimed to strengthening and improved
project carry out in community target area of vulnerable rural households in Siem Reap Provinces
and establish project as three years.

10.
Mobile Kitchen project – through sub-contracted with Fintrac, Inc. to implement a project
Cambodia HARVEST in Battambong province for 6.5 months started from 17 August 2015 until 29
February 2016. This project aimed to promote the importance of healthy; diversified diets for all
members of rural households, but in particular for the nutritional health of young children in the
first 1,000 days up to their second birthday
11.
Empowering farmer groups towards Livelihood Improvement through sustainable agriculture
(EFSA) in Pursat Province- through partnership with CAFOD in Cambodia, Srer Khmer is
implementing a project in Pursat for a period from 15 February 2015 to 28 February 2016.
12.
Kampong Thom Food Security and Agriculture project – through sub-contracted with Fintrac, Inc.
to implement a project Cambodia HARVEST in Kampong Thom province for 20 months started from
June 2012 until January 2014 and then for another 25 months from Feb 2014 to Feb 2016.
13.
Pursat Food Security and Agriculture project – through subcontracted with Fintrac Inc.
implements the Cambodia HARVEST project for 18 months starting from September 2011 until Feb
2013 and then continue another second phase for 16 months up to June 2014. Srer Khmer is on the
process to put another bidding to continue for some 20 months from July 2014 to Feb 2016.
14.
Saving Funds Facilitator – through subcontracted with Fintrac Inc. implements the Cambodia
HARVEST, project for 23 months starting from 1st April 2014 until 28 Feb 2016. This project is
implemented in Kampong Thom and Pursat province
COMPLETED PROJECTS (2002-2015)
1.
Improving the livelihood choices on disputed land for women and their families in Siem Reap
province - is implemented by Srer Khmer working together with BanteaySrei through the support
financial by NPA, for a period of 17.5 months from 15 July, 2014 to 31 December 2015.
2.
Integrated Farming and Marketing for vulnerable women and their families to improve their
livelihood in Siem Reap and Battambang provinces- is implemented by Srer Khmer working
together with Banteay Srei through the support financial by CAFOD. This project is for a period of
one year until December 2015 with possible extension.
3.
Extension of SRI techniques to improve farmer resilience – supported by Oxfam America to
implement a Farmer Field Schools (FFS) on the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and seed
breeding in Pursat and Kampong Speu provinces from June 2010 to April 2015.
4.
Livelihoods WASH, and Nutrition components of EFAP-AF – through partnership with PLAN
International in Cambodia, Srer Khmer implemented a project in Kampong Thom for a period from
September 2013 to 28 February 2015.
5.
Cashew nut training – through service contract from NTFP which received fund from ICCO, Srer
Khmer was asked to provide training on cashew nut production techniques and farmer association
management to farmers in Rattanakiri province for a period from 2013 to December 2014.
6.
Chicken production Farmer Field School – through a service contract from CRY (UK NGO), Srer
Khmer was asked to facilitate training by using FFS on Chicken production to their farmers in Stung
Treng province for a period from 2013 to December 2014.
7.
Climate Change Adaptation for Livelihoods of Rural women project of the gender and climate
change committee of the Ministry of women’s affairs – Srer Khmer was offered a sub-contract

from MOWA which funded by CCCA to conduct training on adaptation focus on agriculture in
collaboration their line provincial department of women’s affairs in Otdar Meanchey, Preah Vihear
and Stung Treng from February 2013 to April 2014.
8.
Enhancing Capacities for Disaster Risk Reduction in Agriculture in Cambodia and the
Philippines - with the support from FAO through OSRO/RAS/210/EC, Srer Khmer was provided a
sub-contract to support in the development of DRR action plans in Kampong Speu province. This
project is from January to November 2013.
9.
Enhancing Capacities for Disaster Risk Reduction in Agriculture in Cambodia and the
Philippines - with the support from FAO through OSRO/RAS/210/EC, Srer Khmer was provided a
sub-contract to support in the development of Good Practices of DRR in Agriculture. This project is
from January to November 2013.
10.
Conduct agro-chemical training – As a sub-contractor with the Cambodia HARVEST to provide
training to inputs suppliers in Battambang province for a period of 5 months from May to October
2012.
11.
Increasing Dialogue for Empowerment and Actions (IDEA)-in partnership Catholic Relief Services
(CRS) with funding supported from the United Stated Government implemented a project based in
Kampong Cham province. This project aimed to reduce vulnerability and improved livelihoods of
Muslim Cham rural poor depending on natural resources and other agriculture, value chain and
marketing activities. This is a 2 year project started from October 2010 and will be ended by
September 2012. The possible no-cost extension until December 2012.
12.
Providing training on agricultural techniques to TAF partners. Srer Khmer plays a role as service
provider to facilitate 13 trainings on home garden, mushroom production, chicken raising, fish and
frog raising in Kampot province for a period of two months which started from June until August
2011.
13.
Providing training on agricultural techniques to CREDIT MFI. Srer Khmer was offered a contract
to facilitate some 90 training to CREDIT MFI clients on agriculture techniques between June to
December 2011.
14.
Supporting Land Rights for Small Household Farmers towards Livelihood Security for poor
farmers in Banteay Meanchey and Battambang provinces in post conflict food security supported by
Norwegian Peoples Aid (NPA) since 2002. This year NPA is to cover from January to December
2011. The project has been implementing in a support from NPA since 2001 and 2011 is a phase out
year from Battambang and Banteay Meanchey provinces.
15.
Providing training on chicken and pig production – in partnership with CARE CHiFS project in
Ratanakiri province facilitates training of trainers on chicken and pig production started from April
to June 2012.
16.
Providing training to KREDIT MFI – in partnership with KREDIT MFI conduct livelihood training to
their clients started from April to Oct 2012.
17.
Conducting training on Cashew production – in partnership with MOT-ADB-JFPR and MRNF
conducting training to farmers in KPT. This is about 40 days works only
18.
Civil Society and Pro-Poor Market- in partnership with The Asia Foundation (TAF) with funding
supported from DFID/DANIDA no cost extension NRML implemented a project based in Kampong

Speu province. This project aimed to reduce vulnerability and improved livelihoods of rural poor
depending on natural resources and other agriculture, value chain and marketing activities. This is a
9 months project started from March 2011 and will be ended by November 2011.
19.
Conduct training to Cashew Farmer Associations and Training was supported by EC-IFC-Phase
3 for a 6 month period in Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom from January to June 2011. This
project works in cooperation with GRET (a French NGO specialized in Agriculture and Rural
Development) to provide training on the following topics:

Organic cashew production methods training
Internal Control System (ICS) for organic registration
Pre and Post Cashew Harvest management training
20.
Integrated Farming and Marketing for Livelihood Improvement project – is supported AusAID’s
Community Development Fund to implement a two year project in Pursat province from Feb 2011
to January 2012 for rice improvement, and homestead production and marketing.
21.
Farmer Field School- Chicken Production – in getting contract from CARE EC Food Security project
implemented a pilot FFS on chicken production in Pailin province for a period of 3 months and ends
on March 2010. Another one year project is on the process to cover from 1 April 2010 to April 2011.
22.
Agricultural inputs distribution – in partnership with FAO-EUFF implement a project to distribute
agricultural inputs to household affected by the volatile food prices in Kampong Speu province. This
project started from April 2010 and will be ended on May 2011.
23.
Conducted training to Cashew Farmer Associations and Training was supported by EC-IFCPhase 2 for a 5 month period in Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom from July 2010 to December
2010. This project works in cooperation with GRET (a French NGO specialized in Agriculture and
Rural Development) to provide training on the following topics:

Farmer Association Management training
Organic cashew production methods training
Internal Control System (ICS) for organic registration
Pre and Post Cashew Harvest management training
24.
Rural Ecological Agriculture for Livelihood (REAL) - supported by KEMI/SIDA (Swedish Aid)
through the Field Alliances (TFA) based in Bangkok, Thailand, to implement a project on chemical
free vegetable production in Kampong Cham province. This is a 3 years project which is currently
implemented as phase 1 of a regional project led by KEMI and the FAO Vegetable IPM programme:
"Towards a non-toxic environment in South-East Asia."
25.
Development project – supported by Latter Day Saint Charity (LDSC) to provide training on home
garden and chicken production to the farmer groups in Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham and Siem
Reap provinces. This project is implemented from Feb 2010 to November 2011.
26.
Civil Society and Pro-Poor Market- in partnership Catholic Relief Services (CRS) with funding
supported from DFID/DANIDA implemented a project based in Kampong Speu. This project aimed
to reduce vulnerability and improved livelihoods of rural poor depending on natural resources and

27.
Integrated Farming and Marketing Systems - 2- in partnership with CRS-USCC with funding both
from CRS and McKnight Foundation (US) to implement a project on integrated farming, cash crops
and marketing based in Siem Reap province. This is a 3 years project started from August 2007 and
will end July 2010.
28.
Farmer Field School on SRI and Book Keeping – supported by Oxfam America to implement a pilot
project of 15 Farmer Field Schools (FFS) on the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and
Bookkeeping in Pursat province from July 2009 to March 2010 to evaluate SRI rice production and
marketing against other rice production systems. Another three year project is on the process to
finalize.
29.
Conducted training to Cashew Farmer Associations and Training was supported by IFC/MPDF
for a 8 month period in Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom from November 2009 to September
2010. This project works in cooperation with GRET (a French NGO specialized in Agriculture and
Rural Development) to provide training on the following topics:

30.
Development project – supported by Latter Day Saint Charity (LDSC) to provide training on home
garden and chicken production to the farmer groups in Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham and Siem
Reap provinces. This project is implemented from Feb 2010 to November 2011.
31.
Sustainable Land and Biodiversity Conservation Project- in partnership with UNDP Global
Environment Facility Small Grants Programme to implement a project based in Kampong Cham
province for rice improvement and homestead production. This is a 2 years project started from
August 2007 and will end on July 2009.

Integrated Farming and Marketing for Livelihood Improvement - in partnership with NZAID
based in Bangkok, Thailand to implement a supplementary project to that (see 6 below) supported
by CRS in Siem Reap. This NZAID SGP funded project started from November 2007 and will be
finished in October 2009.
33.
Agro-biodiversity Used and Market Development Contributing to Food and Livelihood Security in partnership with PEDIGREA Association based in the Philippines and received funding from
NOVIB (Oxfam Netherlands). This is a one year project for Farmer Field School in rice and vegetable
improvement and marketing, started from January 2009 to December 2009 and it is a follow up
project in KDL, KSP and Takeo provinces.
34.
Sustainable Land and Biodiversity Conservation Project- in partnership with UNDP Global
Environment Facility Small Grants Programme to implement a project based in Kampong Cham

Pilot Development of Cashew Farmer Associations and Training was supported by IFC/MPDF
for a 6 month pilot project in Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom from January to June 2009. The
project commenced in 2008 with support from Mekong Rain Natural Foods (MRNF) for organic
cashew production in Kampong Cham province. IFC took over the initiative in 2009 with support
for a 6 month Cashew Farmer Association development and training pilot project. With IFC support

LEARN IT Project supported by ADB/CARDI to assist in implementation of CRKB to assist farmers
to make rice management decisions to improve productivity and profitability in Prey Veng, Svay
Rieng and Pursat provinces. This project was implemented from mid-2007 to 31 December 2008.

Integrated Farming and Marketing for Livelihood Improvement - in partnership with FAO in
Phnom Penh to implement a one year pilot project in Pursat on rice and homestead production
from January to December 2008.

Food Security and Livelihood Improvement Project supported by CIDA/FSIF conducted Farmer
Field Schools in cash crops, vegetable and animal production for poor farmers and supplied
chickens to the poorest farmers to 14 Farmer Associations in Battambang province from May 2006
to April 2008.

Establishment of Village Fruit Nurseries in 4 Selected Villages, Banteay Meanchey – supported
by EC's ECOSORN the project developed 4 fruit tree nurseries Banteay Meanchey province in 2008.

Integrated Women Empowerment Project – in partnership and supported by ADDA (Agriculture
Development Denmark Asia) in Siem Reap Province. The project and partnership ended on 31
December 2008 the project focus was on Farmer Associations, integrated farming, rice, vegetables,
animal production for benefit of poor rural women.

Small Scale Irrigation System to Support Livelihood Security - as top-up grant to the GEF funded
project, this UNDP TRAC FUND project is implemented in Kampong Cham province to ensure water
supplies to increase agriculture productivity and diversification of community agriculture and to
improve safe drinking water supplies.

Responsible use of Agro-Chemicals and Value Added Agri-Services - supported by IFC/MPDF to
conduct 2 cash crop Farmer Field Schools, survey of local pesticide use and value chain crop
marketing/storage was undertaken as a short term project/consultancy for Maddox Julie Pitt (MJP)
Foundation in Samlaut district, Battambang province from July to December 2007.

Support of Mine Clearance for Development Project - with financial support from EC's ECOSORN
project implemented a post-demining agriculture training in homestead production, cash crops and
Self Help Group formation in Taven village, Morng Reussey district, Battambang province over 7
months to November 2007.

Provision of Facilitation of Community Flood Management (CBFM) and School - supported by
the ADPC office based in Bangkok, Thailand, to implement a pilot project training commune
councils in disaster management and rehabilitation in Prey Veng and Kandal provinces over 4
months to end September 2007.

Proactive Project to train and support 15 community forestry LNGOs from 12 upland and lowland
provinces for the SGP - PTF Programme administered by UNDP. The LNGOs were given training in

Project management, Business and Marketing and Knowledge Management and field coaching in
Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation over a 12 month period.

Urban/Peri-Urban Agriculture supported by FAO/United Nations based in Rome, Italy to conduct
a study on low income producers in urban and peri-urban of Phnom Penh. The study was
subsequently incorporated into a regional manual.

Livelihood Improvement Project, for poorer farmers in Kampong Cham province, supported by
CDF-AusAID from January to December 2006 provided Farmer Field Schools in livelihood
improvement and homestead production and Farmer Association formation.

Capacity Building for Farmer Associations Project supported by DANIDA-IPM in Kandal; Kg.
Cham; Takeo; Kg. Speu; Battambang; Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey provinces provided
governance and leadership training and exchange visits for Farmer Associations.

Post-FFS Training in cooperation with FAO-IPM to provide training in living soil and SRI rice
techniques to Farmer Trainers and District Trainers post FFS in Battambang, Kandal, Kampong
Cham and Siem Reap provinces.

IPM program in rice and vegetables supported by FAO/United Nations using FFS approach 20022005 was an extensive national program and core a program and origin of Srer Khmer.

Farmer Life School training supported by FAO, in social welfare, health (HIV/AIDS awareness) and
food security along Highway 5 in 2003 was delivered by Srer Khmer

On-farm Trials of Low Net Tunnel Technology supported by SUSPER/AVRDC-MOFA (France) to
trial to grow leafy vegetable crops under plastic was a small research project undertaken by Srer
Khmer

Insect Ecological Identification and Training Project, supported by the Dietrick Foundation, USA
2002–2005, was undertaken by Srer Khmer to support the IPM program and organic farmers and
to eliminate pesticide use.

The Participatory Plant Breeding Project (PPB), The PPB project was supported by the Center for
Genetic Resources, Wageningen University Research and the PEDIGREA Foundation, Asia focused
on participatory crop and poultry genetic resources in rice-based farming systems in Kandal, Takeo,
Battambang and Kompong Speu provinces.

In cooperation with DANIDA-IPM Project, in 2006 Srer Khmer was the resource organization in
developing training guides on topics related to livelihood improvement and training to strengthen
farmer groups in capacity building, organization and management, marketing, and exchange visits,
etc.

In cooperation with other agencies. FAO/National IPM to facilitate training of Farmer Trainers in
Prey Veng province; with TCP/CMB capacity building post FFS; and with Care Cambodia FLS
training in Battambang province. Srer Khmer has conducted external project evaluations for other
NGOs, and CRS (Svay Rieng province), training for Mlup Baitong (Kg. Speu province), training
materials for Danida–NRM-CDC and a horticultural consultancy for VSO (Stung Treng province).
NGO Forum contracted Srer Khmer to conduct a series of regional Pesticide Workshops covering
pesticide use, health, regulation and alternatives.
