COMPANY
GESTA Gesellschaft fuer Stahlrohrgerueste mbH is a company
in the field of scaffolding and lifting equipment and a specialist
for all requirements of industrial scaffolding, access systems and rope access technologies.
COOLING TOWER ACCESS SYSTEMS
Access systems are suspended scaffolds fitted with e
 lectric
travel drives which enable maintenance work in big heights
and depths, especially at curved surfaces and buildings
like cooling towers, industrial chimneys and overhanging
or curved walls.
GESTA uses a modular building access system which was
developed and refined in-house during several decades,
and which allows refurbishment work to be carried out
safely and economically and for every purpose - regardless
of whether the constructions are required for coating work,
maintenance or repair work.

PROBLEM SOLVING COMPETENCE
Gases or steam attack the concrete shell of cooling towers
over time, so that coating or repair work is required. The
performance of such repair work to the inner and outer
wall surfaces is carried out using cable access techniques
that can be moved vertically and horizontally. These access
systems are usually object-specific constructions.

According to the current state of technology, GESTA-access
systems can achieve a maximum height of 250 m. The
speed of the working platform can be up to 18 m/min.

With horizontal and vertical workplaces at any point of a
tower-like structure, teams can work conveniently from
an access system which includes the necessary payload
for tools and materials. The access systems can be moved
vertically and horizontally from the cage by means of the
electric control system.
