Make plans to attend the “SPHS Fantastic Variety Show” sponsored by Theater Team. It is this Friday, Dec 16, 7
pm in the auditorium. Bring your friends and family.
Concurrent enrollment classes. Applications need to be returned to Ms. Delgado in counseling tomorrow.
Courses for Spring 2017 are: American Sign Language: Intermediate (Tuesdays 3:30-6:20pm), Intro to Chicano
Studies (Thursdays at 3:30-6:20pm), Child Growth and Development (Mondays 3:30pm- 6:45pm). Applications
are available in the counseling office. Open to students with at least a 2.0 GPA. Gain high school and college
credit at the same time at no cost to you.
SPHS Talent Show being sponsored by the senior class is Friday Jan 27. Get your act together and sign up in the
student store.
Seniors Deadline to apply to Cal Lu is January 1. Please have your application information completed before
we go on break!

Have some free time over break? Work on the Lion’s Club speech contest. Awards are; Santa Paula winner
$100, District $4,500, Area $6,500, Final winner $10,000. Local qualifiers are awarded $25. Theme “Is the right to
privacy a threat to our national security?” Speech must be between 5-10 minutes long. Entrants must turn in
their written speech by Feb. 3 to Mrs. Learn. Up to 5 speeches will be selected for presentation on Feb 8 to
independent judges who will determine the winner to go to the next level. Pick up rules in the C &C Center.
