WALLMOUNT CLIMATECAB
Black Box Wallmount Climatecabs are
engineered around a welded frame.
12mm holes are drilled in the rear panel
corners for attachment to a wall.
Front and rear rails offer depth adjustment
to make them suitable for patch panels as
well as equipment.
Front rails are provided with the cabinet,
rear rails are available on request.
A gland plate is available on double hinged
models to allow the sealed entry / exit of
cables.. The standard gland plate runs the
entire width of the cabinet on the base of
the rear section
Three different cooling options are available.

When you need to install rackmount
equipment in less-than-ideal environments
or in areas without existing cooling
infrastructure, ClimateCab NEMA 12
Wallmount Cabinets are your answer.
Their self-contained cooling system keeps
your equipment housed in ideal conditions
in virtually any location.
On the double-hinged models, the cabinet
swings away from either a front or a rear
door, enabling access to the rear of your
equipment. Single-hinged models in which
only the front door opens are also
available.
MODELS
ClimateCab with 800BTU Air-Conditioning
The AC models are perfect for harsh
environments and remote locations without
cooling infrastructure. Air-Conditioning units
keep equipment cool even with temperatures
up to 54.4oC. A closed-loop cooling system
recirculates air in the cabinet and keeps
outside air out, while an internal evaporator
eliminates condensation.
An 800 BTU
conditioner can extract around 250W of heat
–
ideal
for
hubs,
switches,
and
communincations equipment.
ClimateCab with 2000BTU Air-Conditioning
Designed to protect rackmount computers
the 2000BTU ClimateCab is approximately
800mm Deep, and can extract over 600W of
heat.
ClimateCab with Fan
Use the fan models in areas where you need
protection from the elements, but
temperature control is not a significant issue.
Air filters on the bottom can be easily
removed for cleaning without opening the
cabinet. A pagoda style fan top provides
protection from falling liquids and debris.

convenience of easy access to the rear of the
equipment mounted inside.

INSTALLATION
Climatecab sections can be separated to
reduce the weight of the individual parts
during installation.
A typical process is as follows:
• Mark and Install wall anchors.
• Hang rear section and tighten wall
anchors.
• Hang air conditioner and tighten support
bolts.
• Adjust front rail depth.
• Install rear rails if supplied.
• Make cable entry/ exit by using gland
plate or drilling/ installing individual
cable glands.
• Set desired internal temperature by
turning the temperature trim control
from inside the cabinet.
• Connect to AC supply, test and readjust
temperature.
• Install equipment.
MAINTENANCE
ClimateCab air conditioners are sealed for
life.
There is no requirement to re-gas the
system.
A removable, washable Aluminium filter is
accessible from outside the cabinet.

Rails
European ClimateCab rails feature square
holes to accept cage nuts and M6 mounting
screws. A standard Climatecab includes a
pair of front rails.

Standard Shelves
Standard shelves typically run the full depth
of the cabinet and are mounted at the front
and rear.
Depending on the load requirement, shelves
are of varying thicknesses which can take up
“U” space in the cabinet.
Cantilever shelves are for smaller lighter
equipment and take up virtually no vertical
“U” space.
ADDITIONAL RAILS
Rear rails allow the mounting of a rear PDU
or can be used to distribute the weight of
heavy items. They are suitable for use with
double hinged Climatecabs.

point. For regulatory compliance and to
prevent the risk of an electric shock it is

CABLE MANAGEMENT
Bend Radius
You can invest in the best cable and
hardware, but if it’s not installed properly, it
won’t work, or at least it won’t work well. If
you bend twisted-pair cable too much, you
loosen the twists and lose performance.
Protect your investment by adhering to the
following bend radius recommendations
under no-load conditions:
HORIZONTAL CABLE MANAGERS
Jumper ring panels are perfect for horizontal
cable runs into patch panels.
UTP horizontal: 4 X the cable diameter.
ScTP horizontal: 8 X the cable diameter.
Multipair backbone: 10 X the cable
diameter.
2- and 4-fibre horizontal: Not less than
25mm.
Fibre backbone: Not less than 10 times the
cable diameter, or as recommended by the
manufacturer.
Even though there is no standard at this
time for patch cable bend radius, it’s good to
be aware of bend radius when using patch
cables.
