INSTALLATION AND SERVICE OF HELKAMA COT1 – CABINET
The Helkama COT1 is a cabinet made to a high specification. The COT1 has a CFC-free refrigeration
system and insulation. To ensure that your new cabinet gives many years of satisfaction, please read the
instructions carefully.

Always ensure that your machine stands on level floor. Rollers are lockable in order to keep a cabinet on it´s place.
Always leave airspace behind to allow air circulation.
Never leave a cabinet in direct sunlight.
After installation the refrigeration unit should stand for 2 hours before being plugged in. The oil in the refrigeration system has this
time to collect in the compressor after transportation.
Plug your cooler into a nearby socket. If You lead is not long enough do not extend the cable. An electrician must install a 10 amp.
socket nearby. Never leave the COT1 running permanently on an extension cable.
Now the cabinet is securely plugged in and working, leave for 2 hours bef ore product loading. This allows for the cabinet to lose its
heat.
The thermostat is below of the front edge of the illuminated header (see picture). It is set for correct temperatures and should not to
be altered. Should it require slight adjustment turn stick clockwise to increase cooling.
Cleaning advice: Overheating is normally due to dust and/or dirt on the condenser or fan motor out of order. Ensure that the
condenser is cleaned at regular intervals. Use a brush or a vacuum cleaner. The condenser is placed in the lower section of the
cabinet.
Service: Before calling to the service department, please check the following points. Always take the plug away from source before
any service work.
FAULT (FA)
, REMEDY (RE)
FA = Interior icing-up. RE = Switch off the mains and defrost. Reset the thermostat to half -way and restart.
FA = Slow to cool in warm weather. RE = Ensure that the condenser in the back of the cabinet is free from dust or dirt and has a clear
passage of air.
FA = Lights not working. RE = Sw itch off mains and change the faulty tube. Illuminated logo plexi is attached by two screws.
FA = Cabinet not working. RE = Test power supply by plugging in another appliance.
Having checked all these points, if you still require service, contact your dealer quoting the serial number and code number of the cooler
and detail of the fault.
INFORMATION TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PEOPLE: Access to the compressor and electric components by removing lower panel
of the cabinet. Access to the thermostat by removing illuminated logo plexi. Evaporator fan under cabinets plastic bottom plate.
