Dear Galileo Families,
Love Galileo? Want to help even more? PTA is looking for Board Members! We have
several positions including PTA President, Vice President, and Recording
Secretary…..and we need YOU!! If you are interested, please see the PTA Nomination

Last week, we celebrated our incredible Administrative Professionals and this week,
we are going to be doting on our amazing teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.
There are only 20 more days of school! As we head into May this week, we have a bit
more testing and two assemblies on Friday!
ATTENTION 8th Grade Parents
The Florida Science Assessment (FCAT) has been moved from Monday
(5/1) to Tuesday (5/2).
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
Looking for information about Teacher Appreciation? It was sent by your room parent
within the last two weeks! Check your email:)
GALILEO BEACH CLEAN UP- next Saturday
Join us at Lori Wilson Park on May 7th at 8:30 am. We love having Galileo families
join in our tradition of BEACH CLEAN UP. Mrs. Bronga will be there from 8:30 to
11:30. Families can stay and enjoy a family day at the beach! New Galileo Beach
Clean Up spirit shirts will be available for $10. Please contact Mrs. Bronga-
[email protected] if you are interested in purchasing one of
these shirts.
BOOK CLUB
The last Book Club meeting will be this Thursday, April 27th.
Galileo Art Exhibit
May 18 from 4:45 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Join us to see the most impressionable art exhibits of the year at our Third Annual Art
Exhibit on May 19th. Be prepared to be wowed! The Exhibit will be held prior to the
Evening of Excellence Award Ceremony, which is an invitation-only event for award
recipients, but all Galileo families are invited to come out to the Art Exhibit.
Creative Productivity Showcase
May 18th (4:45 p.m.- 5:30 p.m.)
Join us to experience the finest products that came out of our second semester of
Creative Productivity! You won’t believe the innovation, creativity, and showmanship
until you experience it yourself. The CP Showcase will be held prior to the Evening of
Excellence Award Ceremony, which is an invitation-only event for award recipients, but
all Galileo families are invited to come out to the CP Showcase.

VOLUNTEER OBLIGATION FULFILLED??
Did you complete your volunteer hours for the 2016-2017 School Year? Just a gentle
reminder that all families must complete their volunteer hours prior to June 30th! As
a reminder, each family must commit either 20 hours per child of service to Galileo
yearly, or 30 hours per family with multiple children. If you have questions about
your hours, please send an email to [email protected]
Volunteer Opportunities this week: Help needed for Teacher/Staff Lunch or Hygiene
Kit help next week. **Also, we still need floss picks, sanitizer, tissues, and lip balm

Support our Odyssey of the Mind Team who qualified for the
Odyssey World Championship!
First, is All-You-Can-Play Pinball at the Pinball Lounge in Oviedo. From 7-9pm on
Thursday May 4th, guests can play as much pinball as they want for only $10. That's a
lot of fun at a fantastic price! Our second event is a Chipotle Spirit Night. On Thursday
May 18th from 4-9pm bring the attached flyer, or mention our team, and we will receive
50% of the proceeds. Come get good food and donate to a good cause! SEE THE

GALILEO’S GOT TALENT!
Do you have a singer, dancer, gymnast, comedian, musician, actor, or otherwise
talented child? Talent Show auditions are taking place in the music room this week..
Students can still sign up at the Music Room door! Students must provide their own
music, props, instrument, etc. (we can provide piano) We welcome acts of all sizes:
sing, dance, gymnastics, instrumental, magic, comedy, skits, acting, etc. Come sign
up!

CAMP GALILEO~ SIZZLING SUMMER CAMPS
Join us for Camp Galileo this Summer! There are an abundance of
offerings and lots of fun to be had! See the attached flyer for details
and secure your child’s spot today.

Galileo Parents! Our Spring show will be May 12 @ 6pm! The Theme is Pirates,
The Musical! Galileo Chorus, 2nd grade, and 4th grade will be performing. Please
have your child meet their teacher in the classroom at 5:30 to be prepared for the
show.
Each student performing should be in costume.
Base costume
Blouse or T shirt -cream or white, tattered optional
Shorts, capri's, or pants in jean, brown, or black
Each child has an option to add items such as: sashes, patches, jewelry, bandana;
however, No Hats (Hats are limited toward a few acting students).
