Homewood Graduate Affairs and Admissions Office TOEFL/IELTS Policy (Part A) The Graduate Affairs and Admissions Office would waive the TOEFL/IELTS for any applicants whose citizenship is from any of the countries below: Countries with English as an Official Language/Language of Instruction in Higher Education Anguilla Ireland, Northern Singapore Antigua and Barbuda Ireland, Republic of Solomon Islands Australia Jamaica South Africa Bahamas Kenya Swaziland Barbados Lesotho Tanzania Belize Liberia Tonga Bermuda Malawi Trinidad and Tobago Botswana Malta Turks and Caicos Islands British Virgin Islands Mauritius Uganda Cameroon Montserrat United Kingdom Canada (except Quebec) Namibia Vanuatu Cayman Islands New Zealand Wales Dominica Nigeria Zambia England Papua New Guinea Zimbabwe Fiji St. Kitts and Nevis Gambia St. Lucia Ghana St. Vincent and the Grenadines Gibraltar Scotland Grenada Seychelles Guyana Sierra Leone Participating departments in this policy: Participating Departments: Krieger School of Arts and Sciences: Whiting School of Engineering: Biology Applied Mathematics and Statistics Classics Biomedical Engineering (Master’s) Cognitive Science Biomedical Engineering - CIBD (Master’s) English Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Economics (not requiring it for US Civil Engineering citizens, and granting it for Foreigners Computer Science who have had a year or more of study Electrical and Computer Engineering and work in the US) Engineering Management (Master’s) German and Romance Languages Geography and Environmental Engineering History Information Security Institute (Master’s) History of Science Materials Science and Engineering History of Art Mechanical Engineering Math Political Science Psychological and Brain Sciences Public Policy (Those earning a degree from the US only) Physics and Astronomy Sociology Writing Seminars Political Science (language of instruction is English) Robotics (Part B) Departments will waive the IELTS/TOEFL for any applicant with these qualifications: (a) Received a bachelor's degree or master's degree from an institution in the United States, England or Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Barbados, Bahamas, and Singapore. (b) or is about to complete his/her bachelor's/master's degree at an institution in any country for which English is the official language.
