Crashing when interfacing with Microsoft Office (Excel mostly but
that is what we use most).
TeamImage problems, we have some old .pdf documents in closed
audits that no longer open.
We experienced considerable difficulties when moving from R8.2.2 to
R9.x mostly related to speed problems. These problems appeared to
be due to issues with the EWP program (which was mostly resolved by
a program update) and issues with our internal systems/state
network we use to run and communicate with EWP from field
locations. Slow connections can cause a lot of problems when using
EWP. Our move to R10 was much smoother. We occasionally
experienced some loss of data for which we were never able to
identify the exact cause(s)…i.e., problem with EWP, connectivity
issues and/or user error. Other CCH users have reported
experiencing similar data loss issues (so we weren’t alone). CCH
has attempted to address these concerns by adding additional
features. For example, one prime explanation for data loss is a
break in the connection with the db…EWP added warnings and flags to
notify users when such occurrences happen. Recently the complaints
I have heard about data loss has fallen off so things appear to be
getting better. Throughout our use of TM we have encountered a
number of glitches and bugs within the program. CCH’s Tech Support
team has been very prompt and responsive in trying to help us to
resolve these issues…patches and hotfixes are issued on a regular
basis to correct any noted problems but at times there is only so
much Tech Support can do. One might expect to see no bugs at all
but unfortunately that’s rarely the case with any software any
longer.
1. MS Office Addin
2. Copy/Paste in HTML fields
3. Replication/merge process
4. Latency on Access DB (distributed)
5. Screen Settings and layout for issues and TeamStore.
Freezing up, not able to save other documents outside TM while TM
is open.
Occasional crashing with lost work, hyperlink corruption, Word
opening without the TeamMate toolbar, corrupted workpapers (some
people can open them, others cannot), errors during when closing
TeamMate, and Receive [Switch]/[Retry] during Excel exit/open.
Error 0 and Error 1. Appears to occur when users exit out of a
Word or Excel Document too quickly, and thereby causes the add-in
to either stop functioning or become out of synch. We usually fix
this by closing down EWP, opening up a blank Excel/Word file, and
re-enabling the TeamMate add-in.

Also, when a workpaper has more than 40 or 50 links in it, it slows
down significantly. This is usually only a problem when adding
links to a draft copy, either for quality control review or for
referencing the audit report. We have had to train staff to either
break down their reports into smaller files, or to navigate
"slower" through a workpaper.
We have had numerous problems since we switched to version R10.
Microsoft Word and Excel documents must be saved in the Microsoft
2010 format. If they are not, the workpaper will become corrupt in
TeamMate and will not open. Also, hyperlinks do not show up in the
audit program (procedures).
R10.2 - EWP readonly user shows postedits when viewing audit
programs. Reported to TM - should be fixed in hotfix
- EWP - running spellcheck in audit program step compresses the
line spacing. Reported to TM
- EWP - toolbar dropdown arrows cause teammate to lose focus and
jump to the wrong document. Reported to TM - noted defect.
- TEC - Reports and views don't wrap for project titles,
categories, and activities. Reported to TM - noted as defect.
- EWP - numerous EWP crash reports - reported to TM
- TeamAdmin - userpassword changes and account unlocking does not
update the database. Reported to TM - supposed to be fixed in
hotfix.
We recently upgraded to R10 and at the same time converted to a
centralized database. Prior to our recent conversion, we had been
using TeamMate in a distributed environment for more than ten
years. We have had several issues to deal with as a result of our
recent changes. These issues include having: (1) several audits
that we could not convert to R10; (2) numerous, sudden and
unexplained system crashes while working in a TeamMate file;(3)
inconsistent successful use of the SYNC function; and (4) an
organizational hierarchy problem that locks the computer and
requires a restart. Fortunately, none of these issues has resulted
in a loss of any audit documentation. They have been more of a
nuisance factor for the staff and have mainly occurred on audit
files created in the distributed environment and added to our newly
created database. We are hopeful that these issues dissipate as we
finish these audits and we are working with audits created from
within the centralized database.
See issue matrix (e-mailed)
We have a few problem with syncronizing the replicas.
The main problem we have had with these two versions is during the
syncronization process. While we try to syncronize the data with
the server, it merges instead.
It seems if you convert projects prior to version 9 or 10 you
encounter a multitude of problems with hyperlinking, Replication,
Teamimage and viewing docs in MS word to name a few
We have 12 open cases.
