MEETINGHOUSE CELEBRATES
Our 40th Anniversary with Resident Appreciation Day!
A lot has happened since Watergate and the year the Miami Dolphins had a perfect season.
Can you believe that residents have been calling Meetinghouse home for four decades? It’s
a reason to celebrate! On June 22, we will be holding our 40th Anniversary Party and
Resident Appreciation Day. The fun will take place from noon - 5 PM at the pool and near
the playground. Join us for food, music and a good time! We'll even have a moon bounce to
keep the kids happy. Bring your mitt so we can get a softball game together! Please let the
office know by June 15th if you will be joining us so we know how much food to buy.
Win an iPad or Notebook and Apply for Free in June
Do you have friends who'd like to live at Meetinghouse? Now’s a great time to refer them!
Anyone who signs a lease during June will be entered in a drawing to win an iPad or
notebook computer. We’ll also waive application fees for anyone who applies on the spot.
Swimming Season's Here!
It's almost summer, and the pool area is ready for swimming and sunning. We hope you'll
appreciate the improvements we've made to the deck and pool area. We've sent out
membership information. If you didn't receive it, please contact the office. Rates are the
same, and we’re still offering the Grandparents special of $25.00 per grandchild for a
seasonal pass.
Earth Day Event a Huge Success!
Our Earth Day Shred-It event was quite
successful. We collected over a ton of
shredded paper from Meetinghouse and our
two sister Kaiserman residential communities.
Through these efforts we saved 17 mature
trees, 463 gallons of oil, 24 gallons of gas,
7000 gallons of water and 4000 Kilowatt
Hours of electricity. 3 cubic yards of landfill
were also avoided. Thanks to all of you who
participated.
Summer Cooking Tip
Keep your kitchen cool and barbecue outside in our BBQ area!

Give New Life to Your Old
Glasses
Did you know that 284 million people around
the world suffer from poor vision because
they lack affordable access to eyeglasses?
Meetinghouse helps by collecting old glasses
and giving them to OneSight, which runs a
family of programs dedicated to improving
vision for those in need. OneSight volunteers
recycle and hand-deliver donated eyewear to
thousands of people in need during Optical
Clinics held annually around the world.
They need all types of glasses: prescription
glasses for women, men and children, and
even non-prescription sunglasses. If you'd like
to donate, bring your unused glasses to the
Rental Office.
Dogs Welcome
Meetinghouse now welcomes dogs, with some stipulations. To keep the community safe, we
don't allow aggressive dog breeds. Dog owners are also required to attend to their pets at
all times and keep them leashed while walking them around on the property.
For off-leash exercise, we've installed a new dog run. Here pet owners can allow their furry
friends to roam freely. Like our community gardens, we hope you'll find that the dog run
area's a great place to meet your neighbors!
We’d also like to remind dog owners to please respect your neighbors and the community
by picking up after your dogs and using the newly installed dog-waste stations – complete
with bags! – around the property.
Got additional concerns? As always, please feel free get in touch with the office and ask.
We're here to help and we hope to keep Meetinghouse a great place for everyone to live.

Going Green
In our efforts to keep our commitment to a
greener planet, this will be the last “door to
door” delivery of the newsletter. We will
continue to send it out by email blast and a
copy will be on our webpage as well as
Facebook. If you would like a paper copy,
please stop in the office, we will have some
on hand.
Aside from long walks on the beach, I’m an avid reader who’s mainly addicted to British
Romanticism. I like when people use their turn signal. I also like when my son tells me jokes
that make no sense…hearing him laugh is all that really counts! I like music that has
meaning or makes me dance. Lastly, I like learning new things.
What to you dislike?
I dislike hot weather, people who do not use turn signals, celebrity gossip, and anything that
contains coconut. I’ll add pollen to this list because it’s been a real killer lately.
What you like best about your job?
I love interacting with people. Getting to know both prospective and current residents is
interesting and insightful. We also have a great team here at Meetinghouse, from the office
staff, to the service techs and the security guards. When you like the people you work with,
it’s much easier to enjoy your job.
Tell us about your family.
Anyone who knows me knows that the majority of my family lives here at Meetinghouse! My
twin, my mom and step-dad and my grandmother all live in different buildings here. It’s
great to have everyone so close— it comes in handy when I run out of something. Also, I
have a 7 year old son, Christian, who continues to amaze me on a daily basis. Life is good!
Where is your favorite place to be?
Places that make me feel like a kid in a candy store include art museums, sushi restaurants,
places where I can see great films and anywhere I can pal around with my son. The beach is
great, and the beach at night is even greater.
What are your hobbies?
I like writing. I’ve been chronicling my life since 5th grade and I’m amazed at how little the
subject matter has changed! If social media were a hobby, I’m guilty as charged!
What would Britta like to add?
I just want to thank Carol for not only featuring me in this newsletter but also for giving me
the opportunity to be your Leasing Consultant! Sometimes you have to leap first and trust
that the net will appear. When you have aspirations and you work hard, it always does!

BBQ Grills
Don't forget that if you live in the brick
buildings of Meetinghouse or a second floor
one bedroom apartment, our township
prohibits you from using BBQ grills on your
patios or balconies.
If you'd like to grill, we've got a nice BBQ pit
at the pool area. Use it at your convenience
during pool hours!
I Have a Question 
Why do they put pictures of criminals up in
the Post Office? What are we supposed to do,
write to them? Why don’t they just put their
pictures on postage stamps so the mail
carriers can look for them while they deliver
the mail?
Why is the man who invests all your money
called a broker?
Shoe Box Recycling Collecting Gently Used Shoes
Your shoes may be worn, but they are definitely not worn out! Shoe Box works hard to give
them a new life. This organization's passion for recycling provides affordable footwear for
the needy and reduces waste. When you donate, you're helping people out and going easy
on the environment. What's not to love about that?
Please bring all donations to the Rental Office. Shoe Box takes almost all types of shoes,
except heavy work boots, skates, blades, flip flops and slippers.
Recycling Guidelines
Recycling is a great way for us to do our part to protect our planet. We have made it even
easier for you to help by placing recycling containers next to the regular containers. Items
that can be recycled include:
Glass: Clear, green or brown glass bottles and containers. Simply remove lids and rinse them
out. Window glass and mirrors are not accepted.
Cans: Aluminum, steel and tin cans. No foil or food trays.
Plastics: Milk, detergent and plastic bottles used for beverages. All plastics can be recycled
except film and bags.
Paper: Newspaper, paper bags, magazines, junk mail, catalogs, corrugated containers with
no wax coating) and cardboard boxes.
Thought for the Day
“Until you dare to go after whatever you've
been longing for and as well dare to go extra
mile for it, you may never realize how far you
can go. Therefore, you've got to courageously
and unyieldingly go after whatever you aspire
to do for you have what it takes to achieve
whatever you long to achieve.”
Enjoy your summer! We hope to see you at
the pool!
We Want Your Feedback
We're proud of the sense of community that's developed here at Meetinghouse. To keep it
up, we'd like your help! We'd love to hear your feedback about the community. What kind of
events would you like to see? What can we do to serve your needs better?
Give us a call, write us an email or stop by the office and let us know what you like about
living at Meetinghouse!
Keep Kids Safe When Playing Outside
Warm weather makes it more fun to be outdoors. Our community has lush green space and a
lovely playground, perfect for kids to play outside.
To ensure their safety, please remind your kids not to play in the street or the parking lots!
Kids don't always notice when cars come into the parking lots, making it dangerous for
everyone. Please keep your kids safe by asking them not to play in the street!
