INTRODUCING...
What is LAUNCH? LAUNCH is St. Ann’s new children’s ministry, formerly known as PSR.
Our Mission: To engage children in their Catholic Faith and fuel their lifelong journey with Christ, leading
them to be His hands and feet.
Who is LAUNCH for? LAUNCH is for any child pre-K through fifth grade whether a St. Ann’s parishioner
or not! We consider ourselves part of the East Cobb tapestry and aim to serve the community with this
exciting new ministry!
Why LAUNCH? LAUNCH signifies many stages in preparation before takeoff. Our program is developed
to provide important groundwork leading to a successful launch in a child’s faith development. Combining
catechesis, evangelization, and discipleship, children will begin to grow in faith and relationship with Jesus,
leading to a better understanding of how to love and serve others in their world.

St. Ann’s Staff wants you to know…
If you may be thinking about a retirement gift for Fr. Tom, he would like to mention very
kindly that trinkets or plaques are not what he needs right now. Not to be ungrateful,
but at this time in his life, Fr. Tom is hoping to enjoy some new experiences. If you are
so inclined as to bless him with a retirement gift, he could use donations towards his
retirement.
Dear Past,
Thank you for the lessons.
Dear Future,
I am Ready.

MULTI-TASKING DRIVING TRUTHS
A Note from the Parish Nurse
Every day, serious accidents occur because people attempt to drive while doing something else.
The National Safety Council has shared some truths about the risk of multitasking and driving:
1) Because the BRAIN IS UNABLE TO FULLY FOCUS ON TWO ACTIVITIES at the same time,
only partial attention is given to driving when multitasking; 2) TALKING ON A CELL PHONE
IS RISKIER than talking to a person in the car because a passenger can alert the driver to traffic
issues while the person on the phone cannot; 3) using HANDS-FREE and VOICE-to-TEXT IS NOT A SOLUTION
because they require the driver to take their mind and eyes off the road. Statistics show that drivers using their
phones in this way miss 50% of what is going on around them because they are mentally, if not physically,
distracted; 4) TEXTING AT A STOP LIGHT IS A DISTRACTION TOO. Even at a traffic light, drivers are distracted
for at least 27 seconds after sending a message. Don’t get caught up in thinking there are ways to safely
multitask while driving. Make driving your priority and use the phone once you arrive safely to your destination.
Go to www.nsc.org for more information.
