Storyboard Competition
Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE) is accepting applications for the
Storyboard Competition to be held at the annual KAPE Awards Banquet & Conference on
November 18 – 19, 2014. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your organization to
learn and share!
Storyboards are a great way to engage in conversations around performance excellence. By
submitting a storyboard, your organization can showcase a process improvement effort or a
successful best practice for others to view throughout the conference. Sign up today!

STORYBOARD GUIDELINES
Storyboard submission should include the following:

Storyboard title
Name of the author and any other team members
Organization name or logo
Clearly defined aim statement—what you expect to achieve
Outline of your project or details on how the project achieved or will achieve your aim
Description of who the project impacts
Explanation of the changes made to achieve improvement (utilize graphs and charts)
Summary of the lessons learned from the work and/or the message for readers
Describe the next steps and/or demonstrated sustainability
Storyboard display:
□ The storyboard must not exceed 4 feet wide x 4 feet high
□ Storyboard must be able to stand alone on an easel or table
□ Be creative! Creative use of pictures, graphs, text blocks, color, and headlines can attract
others to your storyboard, prompt conversation, and enhance communication of your
message. Try to limit the amount of text and communicate with numbers, graphs, or
other visuals.
□ Keep it simple. Design for ease of comprehension and readability. Include only critical
information.
Storyboard presenter(s) must:
□ Register and pay as a conference attendee(s) at the conference rate
□ Agree to be at their storyboard on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 4:30 pm to
6:00 pm for the Reception, Networking & Exhibitor Showcase
□ Agree to give a one minute description of their storyboard at the Lunch session on
Wednesday, November 19, 2019 if presented with an award
