HOMECOMING: The Padres last night began a nine-game, 10-day, homestand with the first of three
against the Arizona Diamondbacks, falling by a score of 3-2.
• James Shields made the start and worked 7.0 innings, allowing two runs as the Padres fell by a
score of 3-2…Arizona scored their third run in the top of the ninth before the Padres loaded the
bases in the bottom half but came up short.
• After this weekend set against the Diamondbacks the Padres will enjoy an off-day on Monday
before starting a three-game series on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates before a weekend
series next weekend against the St. Louis Cardinals.
• Tonight, as part of the first Baseball Night in San Diego for 2016, all fans in attendance will receive

DIVISION RIVALS: The Padres and Diamondbacks will play the second of 19 scheduled contests tonight
