Dear Parents and Carers,
Miss Weeks will be returning to school, following her
maternity leave, on Monday 19th March. This means
that Class 4 will be saying goodbye to Mrs Sommers
on Friday 16th March. Time has been arranged for
Mrs Sommers to update Miss Weeks on the
children’s learning to ensure a smooth transition.
Miss Weeks will also be joining Mrs Sommers for the
Class 4 parents’ meetings (see details below).
We are extremely grateful to Mrs Sommers for doing
such a fantastic job of teaching and supporting the
children in Miss Weeks’ absence.
PARENTS – TEACHER MEETINGS
Parents – teacher meetings will take place during
the week commencing 5th March. Appointment
sheets will be displayed outside classrooms from
Monday morning. Please sign up to book your
appointment. Teachers are offering meetings on the
following days:
Mrs Tweedy – Mon 5th & Thurs 8th
Mrs Corlett – Mon 5th, Tue 6th & Thurs 8th
Miss Preston – Mon 5th & Tue 6th
Mrs Sommers – Mon 5th & Tue 6th
SCHOOL NETWORK MEETING
The School Network provides opportunities for
parents and staff to meet in an informal setting to
discuss issues and share ideas about school life, in
order to support continued school improvement.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 29th
February, at 2.30pm in the staffroom. Please come
along.
SCHOOL GOVERNOR VACANCY
On the school’s governing body, there is currently a
vacancy for a foundation governor. Foundation
governors are appointed by the Diocesan Board of
Education and are required to demonstrate a
commitment to the Christian faith.
If you would like an application form or further
information about the role of governors please
contact Dr. Robinson, Clerk to the Governing Body,
the school office.

WORLD BOOK DAY EVENTS
As part of our World Book Day celebrations, Mrs
McFarlane from the Devon Schools’ Library Service
will be visiting the school to lead some fun, activities
based on reading and performing nursery rhymes.
Her visit will take place on Tuesday 28th February
and parents are invited pop into classes from 3.15
pm to see the children performing.
On World Book Day itself (Thursday 1st March), as
well as children and adults dressing up as nursery
rhyme characters, classes will be pairing to allow
children of different ages to enjoy sharing books.
PTA NEWS
Dear All, Well it’s the "D I S C O" tonight and I hope
that we will all be able to enjoy a little dance and
then have a relaxing weekend! 5.00pm till 6.30pm
all year groups at Woodbury Park Hotel. See you
there!! Thank you to everyone for your fund raising

On Wednesday 7th March, there will be a
bag2school collection. Please save unwanted shoes,
bags, curtains, clothes, soft toys, blankets, sheets
and belts. Your child will come home with a bag
today for you to fill. The heavier the bag, the more
money we raise! Last year we raised over £250!

Stars of the Week
Class 1 – Esme for including lots of descriptive
words in her writing.
Class 2 – Finlay 4 trying very hard with his
presentation.
Class 3 – Oliver for being perceptive about other
people’s feeling and including everyone in the
class.
Class 4 – Alex for showing great bravery on his
space course and focusing on his targets.
Meal Time Star – Libby for helping the little ones
with the board games.
