ThePosition
geoisbuildingitsdataservicesoperationsandaspartofthisteamwearelookingforadata
scientist.Therangeandscopeoftherolewillbevariedandisintendedtofocusonextracting
valuefromthedatabaseofhouseholdenergydatacurrentlybeingaccumulatedaswellas
developingnewcapabilitiesforcontrolandautomation.
AsaDataScientist,youuseyourexpertiseindatascience,machinelearning,andrelatedtools
andmethods,toinitiate,direct,andexecutetechnologyassessments,proof-of-conceptactivities,
andsupportthedevelopmentofproductsandservices.
Requirements
Youwillhaveamaths,physicsorengineeringbackgroundandmostlikelybequalifiedwithapost
graduatedegree.Thiswillbesupportedbyseveralyears’experienceinaresearchoranalytical
role.
Inaddition,you’llhavethefollowingskillsandexperience:
• Highlynumerateandexperiencedathandlinglargedatasets
• FamiliarwithSQLandNoSQLdatabases
• FamiliarwithmathematicalmodellingusingPython,Spark(orotherindustrystandard
modellingenvironments)andismathematicallyfluent
• Experiencewithmachinelearningconceptsandtechniques
• Abletoextractmeaningfulinsightsfromdataandprovidesupportbasedondataand
analysistothoseinwithinthebusiness
• Abletodevelopcontrolandanalysisalgorithms,andapplymachinelearningtechniques
• Acreativeandimaginativemind
• Capableofworkingwithamulti-disciplinaryengineeringandcommercialteam
• Articulateandcapableofpresentingideastocolleagueandcustomers,conveying
