Explore Seattle! - Hostelling International USA

Explore Seattle!
Seattle is anything but ordinary. It's a place where bike messengers share
elevators with world-renowned researchers, where fishermen have lunch
alongside top surgeons. It's a city where the extraordinary is commonplace and
commonplace is anything but. And if you look closely, you just might discover
that in Seattle there are amazing things happening all around you.
From jet engines and espresso machines to computers, and rock & roll, Seattle's world-changing events
have all had a distinct sound. But the symphony doesn't end there. Your visit to Seattle may bring you
the sound of an orca blowing as it surfaces, the roar of the crowd at Safeco Field or the near silence of
the Olympic National Rainforest. Come to Seattle and hear it all for yourself!
Picture It:
The hostel is located in Seattle’s International District, where you will find great food,
friendly people, and lots of history. Head on over to Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market
to eat locally grown food, watch the fish fly, and experience the hustle and bustle as you
stroll through the 500 plus shops that make our market unique. Ride the monorail to the
Seattle Center to visit the Space Needle, EMP, Pacific Science Center, amusement park
rides and more. Grab your walking shoes and head over to Gas Works Park for excellent
views of the Space Needle, Seattle’s city skyline, and Lake Union (home of Tom Hank’s
Sleepless in Seattle boat house). Afterwards walk along the water to find the Fremont
Troll hiding under the Aurora Bridge and eat local food from the Fremont Street Market.
Then visit the 16 foot tall bronze statue of Lenin from Red Square in Moscow.
Find out how the Boeing Airplanes are made, take a self guided scavenger hunt and
walking tour of the city and enjoy a spaghetti dinner at the hostel!
