Lexia Strategies for Older Students Level 1: Short Vowel Sounds: reinforce sound/symbol correspondence Consonant Sounds: reinforce sound/symbol correspondence for consonants, consonant digraphs, and consonant blends. B P D: develops automatic recall of sound-symbol correspondence Middle Vowels: develops discrimination of medial short vowels in one-syllable words and detached syllables.
