2016 PRE Talent Show Dear Parents, The time has come to prepare for this year’s spring talent show! All students who wish, will have an opportunity to perform for their classmates during their regular music time during the week of May 2nd. If they are interested in being considered for the all­school talent show, this classroom performance will be used as an audition. The form on the back of this letter MUST be filled out and returned for a student to be considered for the all­school talent show. The date for this year’s all­school talent show is Thursday, May 12 at 9:00am . The criteria for the performances are as follows: 1. All performances must be approx. 2 minutes long or less. This allows us to have as many students as possible perform. 2. All performances must be music or theater based. In addition to instrumental or vocal performances this includes any sort of dancing or routine to music, gymnastics, skits, comedy or magic. Karate or Tae Kwon Do may be performed with a musical background, but no weapons. 3. Any performance involving a skit/play/comedy routine must be completely scripted and I must receive the script on the day of the audition. 4. A performance must be choreographed if there is dancing and all steps must be memorized. This means it must be the same each time it is performed. 5. All lyrics to music used must be appropriate for school. There may not be any suggestive or inappropriate lyrics. If you are unsure about a song, please email me at the address given below BEFORE the audition day. 6. Please work with your child on their performance. Give suggestions to help make it better and be sure you see it before he/she comes to perform. 7. If your child is going to sing with an accompaniment, please make every attempt to find a karaoke track. You can purchase a karaoke track from itunes or many other sources. Students will not have access to any youtube videos during the auditions or the performance. Please let me know if you are having trouble with this ­ I can help! 8. Please fill out and sign the form on the back of this sheet. This paper is your child's admittance to the all­school talent show auditions ­ without it, they will not be considered.
