Dates: Thursday 6pm-10pm, Friday 6pm-10pm, Saturday 12pm-7pm and Sunday 10am-6 pm.
Location: Delaney Park Strip & Mulcahy North and South
Fees: $400 Adult Team / $150 Youth and Pond Hockey
Teams are selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration closes when the allocated team
slots are filled or on February 17th, 2017, whichever comes first. Additional teams will be wait-listed in
the order received. Payment of the registration fee guarantees your spot and must be paid
when you sign up. The fee is nonrefundable, except in the case of a wait-listed team.

TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES
The spirit of this event is one of fair play and fun. There is little tolerance for overly aggressive play and zerotolerance for fighting. Any player cited for three penalties in one game or fighting will be ejected from the
tournament.
1.
This is a multi-level tournament. Three divisions of adults (intermediate, novice and coed) will have registration
restricted to 8 teams per each division.
2.
Tournament format for each division is preliminary round pool play with 4 teams advancing to semi-finals and
potentially a final game.
3.
Game format is three – fifteen minute – running time periods. Tie games will be decided by 5 minute running time
sudden death period. If still undecided, a five player shoot-out will follow. If tie persists, a “sudden-death” shoot-out
takes place. One shooter from each team shoots until one scores and the other does not. No shooter can repeat until
all of his teammates have shot (except the goalie).
4.
Slap-shots are allowed in the intermediate division only; all other levels are no-slap shot.
5.
Specific rules for the coed game play will be consistent with standard distribution and scoring required by gender
allocations as is used in indoor league play.
6.
Awards will be presented to the champions each division.
MANAGER GUIDELINES
1. Each manager is responsible for his or her team member’s conduct.
2. Each manager is responsible for making sure all of his/her players have signed the waiver of liability form. Any team
found with a player or players in a game without a signed waiver will be disqualified and ejected from the tournament.
No refund will be issued.
3. Each manager is responsible for the $400 nonrefundable entry fee.

WAIVER: The undersigned assumes all responsibility for an all risk of damage or injury that may occur to the undersigned as a
participant in the foregoing hockey tournament while participating in hockey activities or using the equipment or facilities of the
Municipality of Anchorage or Greater Anchorage, Inc. The undersigned knows the risk inherent in participating in, or incident to, the
foregoing hockey tournament and hereby waives any claim for damages by reason of injuries sustained by the undersigned. In
consideration of the acceptance and registration of the undersigned in the foregoing hockey tournament, the undersigned hereby
releases and discharges the Municipality of Anchorage and Greater Anchorage, Inc., their agents, officers, directors and employees
from all claims, demands, rights of cause of action, present or future, whether known, anticipated or unanticipated and resulting from or
arising out of or incident to the undersigned’s participation in the foregoing hockey tournament or use of equipment or facilities of the
Municipality of Anchorage.
HOCKEY WARNING AND NOTICE – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING
HOCKEY HAZARDS: Hockey is a hazardous activity. Participants (players) must assume all risks of dangers incident to, or associated
with, the game of hockey including but not limited to colliding with or being hit either on or off the ice by other players’ bodies sticks,
pucks, helmets, skates or protective equipment, colliding or falling on or into the ice, goals, rink doors or employees, referees, rink
boards, rink supports or holes, cracks or rough surfaces in or on the ice surface, rink boards, rink doors or areas of ingress and egress
into the rink.
INSURANCE: No form of insurance is provided to or for participants.
HELMETS: All hockey players must wear protective head gear (helmets) approved by the NCAA or AHAUS while participating in
hockey. Helmets must be worn at all times while on the ice, players’ bench or in the penalty box before, during and after the game.
OTHER PLAYERS: The Municipality of Anchorage and Greater Anchorage, Inc. assume no responsibility for the conduct of
participants in this hockey tournament. Players assume the risk of negligent, careless or reckless acts of other participants (players)
while participating in the game of hockey, including the period immediately before and after the hockey game.
SKATING SURFACE (ICE): Because of varied weather conditions and certain acts of God, the Municipality of Anchorage and Greater
Anchorage, Inc. do not guarantee that the ice surface is resurfaced prior to game, free from standing water, holes, cracks, rough spots
or soft spots on the surface or along the boards. Players assume the risk of the foregoing outdoor ice conditions. In event of a
cancellation, the game(s) may be rescheduled.
REFEREES: Referees for the Municipality of Anchorage are not required to be certified.
PLAYER EQUIPMENT: Except for helmets, where mandatory, each player is responsible for the amount, kind, make and quality of
personal hockey equipment worn by the player.
DUTY OF INSPECTION: Each player has the responsibility to inspect the ice, goals, boards and bench areas (to include doors) before
each game in order to familiarize himself/herself with the existing conditions.
PROHIBITIONS: In addition to the normal rules of ice hockey, participants are prohibited from fighting, “roughhousing” or other
misconduct endangering persons or property. Participants are prohibited from playing hockey while under the influence of drugs or
alcohol.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PLAY, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST PRINT AND SIGN THEIR NAME PRIOR TO THE FIRST GAME.
