RE English Maths We will begin by studying ‘The Sea’ by James Reeves, alongside a range of other poetry which personifies the sea. Our Maths learning will encompass further investigations into fractions, leading on to decimals. Later in the topic, we shall be writing persuasive letters to argue our point of view about an ecological issue. There will also be a unit of work on time and money. D and T In preparation for our Art Exhibition on Friday 17th March, children will learn how to strengthen, stiffen and reinforce more complex structures to make 3D models. Geography Our topic will lead us to discover the oceans of the world and we will be using atlases to locate them. Music In addition, we will consider the environmental impact of tourism on the Great Barrier Reef. The children will continue with the fabulous brass project, led by Mr Baker and Miss Ludlow. Art Using observation skills, the children will be studying the work of artist J. Vincent Scarpace. They will then create their own abstract art work. PSHE We are continuing to understand ourselves as learners and learn strategies to become more resilient when facing a challenge in the classroom. French PE Whilst 4b continue to swim on Monday afternoons, 4a will be learning to create their own team games to incorporate a range of throwing and catching skills.
