IMPORTANT NOTES
This policy is held by MauBank Ltd and provides insurance
& assistance benefits and coverage for MauBank Ltd
Credit Card Holders also called Covered Person.
This policy is held by MauBank Ltd which is the only
policyholder and only MauBank Ltd has direct rights
under this contract against SICOM General Insurance
Ltd and Linkham Services Ltd, the Service Provider;
MauBank Ltd however extends the right to claim
under this group policy to the Covered Person.
DEFINITIONS
Any word or expression to which a specific meaning
has been attached will bear the same meaning
throughout this policy. For ease of reading the
definitions are highlighted by the use of bold print
and will start with a capital letter.
You/Your/Covered Person
means the holder of a Credit Card including
supplementary card issued by MauBank Ltd, the
Account being valid, in good standing at the time of
the incident, living in the Country of Residence and
who benefits from the coverage under this policy.
We/Us/Linkham Services
means the Assistance Service Provider, Linkham
Services Ltd., Level 5, Nexteracom Tower I, Cyber
City, Ebene, Mauritius.
Country of Residence
means Island of MAURITIUS - does not include
Rodrigues or outer islands
Territorial Limits
means Mauritius - Excluding Rodrigues and outer islands
(for Roadside) / Worldwide (for Personal Accident)
Home
means Your normal place of residence in Mauritius
- Excluding Rodrigues and outer islands.
ELIGIBILITY
The benefits summarised in this document are
dependent upon You being a valid Credit Card
Holder of MauBank Ltd at the time of any incident
giving rise to a claim. MauBank Ltd, which has
undertaken to pay the full premium, will give You
notice if there are any material changes to the policy
or if it is cancelled or expires or is not renewed on
equivalent terms.
This policy contains details of cover, conditions and
exclusions relating to each Covered Person and is
the basis on which all claims will be settled.
A Covered Person shall be at least 18 years old.
SPECIAL CONDITION
APPLICABLE TO THE WHOLE POLICY
If You make any claim knowing same to be false or
fraudulent as regards amount or otherwise, this
Policy shall become void in respect of the Covered
Person and all claims hereunder pertaining to the
Covered Person shall be forfeited.
Then
a) We shall not pay the claim
b) We shall not pay any other claim made or which will
be made under the policy by the Covered Person
c) We shall be entitled to recover from You the
amount of any claim already paid under the
policy, which is subsequently found to have been
a fraudulent claim.
d) We may inform the police of the circumstances.
SECTION 1 - ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Special Definitions for this Section
Covered Vehicle: means private cars, SUV’s, driven
by You or You being a passenger, designed, equipped
and registered to carry no more than five persons
(including the driver).The vehicle must be registered
for private, not commercial use, in the Country of
Residence and available free of charge to You.
Covered Incident:
means a breakdown (brake
failure, engine failure, breakage), accident (a sudden,
unexpected, violent and involuntary external event),
or theft confirmed by the police, of the Private cars,
4 * 4 and SUVs for private use and under the name of
cardholder whereby cardholder is driving or as passenger
in the Territorial Limits at the time of the incident.
The Service
Linkham Services Ltd sends You a mechanic to

attend to basic problems that can be resolved at the
roadside. The costs of the spare parts, battery or of
the fuel will be payable by You.
For more serious problems, the Covered Vehicle will
be towed to garage of Your choice.
• 24h/24 Towing services
• The Covered Vehicle had an accident or a
breakdown which cannot be repaired on site.
In case of an accident or breakdown that cannot be
repaired on site, the Covered Vehicle is towed to the
location of Your choice (garage, Home, car dealer,
etc.) wherever You want Your vehicle to be towed.
For one event, only one towing will be provided.
What You should do to benefit from Roadside
Assistance Service?
Just call Linkham Services 24h/24 line on 405 5812,
when a covered event occurs. An agent will answer
You, and will organise the service.
You will have to mention:
• Your Name, Your ID No.
• The registration no. of the Covered Vehicle, the
make, the model
• Details of the event
• Your exact location
• Any phone no on which We can contact You
• The reference no. or policy number printed on
the Assistance Card
• Your Insurance Company
What is Covered?
• Up to 3 Roadside repairs within Period of
Coverage, Repairs means - Battery Boost, Fuel
delivery, Key Lock, Tyre Change.
• Up to 3 Towing Services within Period of Coverage,
Towing means - Hauling Your vehicle from one
place to another.
What is Not Covered?
1.Any incident when You are not driving or You are
not in the Covered Vehicle.
2.The cost of any motorway toll charges, as well as
the cost of all fuel and lubricants.
3.Loss and/or damage caused directly or indirectly
by an earthquake.

4.Loss and/or damage resulting from failure of any
person to observe the maintenance and operating
instructions supplied with the Covered Vehicle.
5.Off road rescue
6.Costs of spare parts, including Battery, Fuel
7.Unattended Vehicles
SECTION 2 - PERSONAL ACCIDENT - 24hr
This section is underwritten by SICOM General
Insurance Ltd (SGIN)
SGIN will pay You one of the benefits shown below
if You sustain a Bodily Injury which shall solely and
independently of any other cause, result within 3
months of the occurrence of the Bodily Injury in
Your death or Permanent Partial disablement or
permanent total disablement.

DEFINITION OF:
Accidental Death: Death within 3 months following
a sudden, unexpected and unforeseen Bodily Injury
caused by violent, visible and external means.
Bodily Injury: Bodily Injury fatal or non fatal or
blindness resulting solely and directly from accident
caused by violent accidental external and visible
means which shall directly and independently of any
cause result in death or disablement.
Permanent Partial disablement:
Permanent Partial disablement shall occur when an
accident has caused a loss of:
• one hand by severance above the wrist,
• one foot by severance above the ankle,
• the sight of one eye,
Permanent Total Disablement: Permanent Total
Disability within 3 months following a sudden,
unexpected and unforeseen Bodily Injury caused by
violent, visible and external means as per the following :

Conditions:
The Accidental Death Benefit as specified in the
Schedule of benefit shall be paid to the nominated
beneficiary/beneficiaries or if there has been no
nomination, then to the estate of the deceased
subject to the terms and conditions of the Policy.
Provisos:
1.No compensation shall be payable under more
than one benefit.
2.Upon payment of a claim to a Covered Person
under either Benefit 2 or 3, all further liability
of SGIN under the Policy will cease forthwith
but only with regards to the Covered Person in
respect of whom such claim has been paid.
Exclusions:
Death and Bodily Injury arising out of:
• Natural conditions, illnesses or diseases
• Self-inflicted injury, self-destruction, suicide or
attempted suicide whether sane or insane
• Engagement in air travel, except as a fare-paying
passenger on a recognized airline operating on
regular schedule air routes or by any charter
aircraft duly licensed as a recognized air carrier.
• Death in any way caused or contributed to by an
act of terrorism involving the use or release or the
threat thereof of any nuclear weapon or device or
chemical or biological agent.
For the purpose of this exclusion, an act of terrorism
means an act, including but not limited to the use of
force or violence and/or the threat thereof, of any
person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or
on behalf of or in connection with any organization(s)
or government(s), committed for political, religious,
ideological or ethnic purposes including the intention
to influence any government and/or to put the public,
or any section of the public in fear.
• War or an act of war whether declared or undeclared,

riots (participation), civil commotion, or police action
if participating, or any illegal act.
Direct involvement or participation in an assault,
felony, illegal, criminal or unlawful act, including
but not limited to Injuries sustained in fights
initiated by You.
Alcoholism or drug addiction and any other
addictive substances
Injury directly or indirectly due to Your participation
in or practice of mountaineering (with the use of
ropes or guides), scuba diving, skijoring, tobogganing,
bobsleighing, participation in professional sport, all
sports in the air, speed or endurance tests or races
of any kind (other than athletics and sailing within 10
miles from the coast of Mauritius)
Driving or riding motorcycles of 250 cc or more
Pregnancy or childbirth or complications arising
therefrom.
AIDS and HIV infection.
Insanity
Naval, Military or Airforce services operations
The Covered Person suffering from any existing
physical defect or infirmity which existed prior to
the accident.
Bodily Injury sustained in connection with the
fulfillments of any demands in the event of
kidnap and/or ransom.
Employment involving:
i) Fireworks, ammunition, fuses, cartridges,
gunpowder, nitroglycerine or any explosive
unless purely incidental to the main operations
of the Employer
ii) Gases and/or air under pressure in containers other
than butane and the like in low pressure containers
iii)Subaqueous work
iv)Underground work
v) Construction and maintenance of coffer dams.

GENERAL CLAIMS PROCEDURE
1.Claims
You must notify Us at the address given below:

TO COMPLY WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AND IN ORDER TO RECEIVE BENEFITS UNDER THE
PRESENT GROUP POLICY, THE COVERED PERSONS
MUST CONTACT THE ASSISTANCE SERVICE
PROVIDER AS SOON AS A CLAIM OR POTENTIAL
CLAIM OCCURS. IN ANY EVENT, THE COVERED
PERSONS MUST CONTACT THE ASSISTANCE SERVICE
PROVIDER BEFORE INCURRING EXPENSES IN
ORDER TO OBTAIN PRIOR AUTHORISATION BY THE
ASSISTANCE SERVICE PROVIDER.
2.SGIN shall be allowed at its own expense upon
reasonable notice to the Covered Person to have
a medical examination of the Covered Person.
3.As soon as possible after the occurrence of an
accident which may be subject to a claim under the
policy, the Covered Person must obtain and follow
the advice of a qualified medical practitioner. SGIN
will not be liable from any consequence of failure
to obtain and follow such advice.

We are committed to providing You with an exceptional
level of service and customer care. We realize that
things can go wrong and there may be occasions when
You feel that We have not provided the service You
expected. Should this happen, We want to hear about
it so that We can try to put things right.

The most important factors in getting Your complaint
dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible are:
a) to be sure You are talking to the right person,
and;
b) that You are giving them the right information.

Step 2 – If You are still not satisfied with any aspect
of our products/ services, You can write or contact the
Complaints Coordinator giving full details of the Policy
and / or claim number and Your contact details at the
address mentioned below.

If You are required to submit copies of supporting
documents, please do so by fax or mail them to the
address mentioned above, quoting the complaint
reference number.
Step 3 - If You remain unhappy with the outcome, You
may write to the Financial Services Commission
Note: The Financial Services Commission will only
entertain complaints to the extent that You have given
Us the opportunity to resolve the matter directly.
GOVERNING LAWS
Unless otherwise agreed in writing this policy will be
governed by and constructed in accordance to Laws in
Mauritius. Any disputes arising out of and in connection
with this Policy, unless amicably settled, shall be
exclusively dealt with the relevant Court in Mauritius.
PERIOD OF COVER
The period of cover is 365 days as from the date of
payment of the full premium. This document only
constitutes a valid evidence of insurance when it is issued
in conjunction with a full payment of the premium. The
Policy is renewable upon payment of the full renewable
premium by MauBank Ltd. MauBank Ltd reserves the
right to cease this insurance cover at any time as it may
so decide; should such a decision be taken, MauBank
Ltd will inform You in writing, of the date such Insurance

DATA PROTECTION ACT
How we’ll treat your private data?
In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2004, We
as data controllers will collect and maintain personal
information in order to underwrite and administer
the policies of insurance that We issue. All personal
information is treated with the utmost confidentiality
and with appropriate levels of security. We will not
keep Your information longer than is necessary. Your
information will be protected from accidental or
unauthorised disclosure. We will only reveal Your
information if it is allowed by law, authorised by You,
to prevent fraud, or in order that We can liaise with
Our agents in the administration of this policy. Under
the terms of the Act You have the right to ask for a copy
of any information We hold on You upon payment
of an administrative fee and to require a correction
of any incorrect information held. Any inaccurate or
misleading data will be corrected as soon as possible.
The above principles apply whether We hold Your
information on paper or in electronic form. Enquiries
in relation to data held by MauBank Ltd should be
directed to the Head of Compliance of MauBank Ltd.
