How can I become a member?
To become a Southlakes U3A Inc. member you can either:

How can I renew my membership?
If you are already an existing member and would like to renew your membership you can do so either by
filling out the form and sending it to our PO Box address or by renewing online.

How can I pay for my membership?

You can pay for your membership by Direct deposit (include your name), or pay in person at The Greater.
The annual membership fee of $50 (do not send it by mail).
Please note that membership fees must be paid before you participate in any Southlakes U3A classes.
How will my personal information be used?
Southlakes U3A Inc. collects personal information to enable efficient delivery of its services. The information
collected is managed solely by Southlakes U3A Inc. and will be used for organisational, communication,
emergency and insurance purposes only. No data will be provided to third party individuals or
organisations.
Do I have to pay for the courses?
No, however some courses require books or materials which are at your expense.
How can I enroll in a course?
1. By login in online to our member’s section.
2. Attending our enrolment day on 17th of January at Dora Creek Hall.
3. Sending your course selection form to our PO box.
What is the “Waiting List”?
Some classes have enrolment limits. If a class is full at the time of your enrolment, you will be placed on the
waiting list. When a place becomes available during the term it will be offered to you. If not, you will be placed
on the priority queue for the next term.
When is the closing date for term 1 enrolments?
Closing date for enrolment applications is 1 February 2016.
What if I missed the enrolment date?
If, after submitting your enrolment form, you decide you would like to take an additional class you are most
welcome to do so provided there is a place available. Please do not turn up at a class without enrolling as
this creates problems for all concerned.
What should I consider prior to enrolling in a class?
When selecting your classes please take into consideration your holiday plans and family duties that might
cause you to miss a significant number of classes.
What to do if I am unable to attend a class session?
If you are unable to attend a class session, please notify your Course Clerk. This is a courtesy to our Course
Leaders. If you don’t know who your Course Clerk is, please contact 0416 254 787 or email
[email protected] for the information.
Do I need to register for continuing courses?
No. When you choose a continuing course it is for the year.
Can I bring my grandchildren to U3A courses?
No. Grandchildren are wonderful, but not at U3A courses.

Tai Chi is a slow moving, non‐impacting exercise
way of improving overall health, fitness and
flexibility. It is suitable for all ages, men and women,
and all fitness levels and can be done standing or

Scottish Country Dancing is a wonderful way to keep
fit, have a laugh and challenge the brain while
mastering the patterns of the traditional dances of
Scotland. There are no intricate steps to learn – you
just need to walk fairly briskly. This is an ideal course

and bring water.

This course will show you how to read a script, move
on stage, follow stage directions and how to act the
part while becoming fluent in stage terminology. It is
highly practical and participative, culminating in a
production and presentation of an acted play
reading to a small invited audience. Bring a note
pad, a folder to file handouts, an HB pencil and a
rubber. Wear comfortable shoes.

methods written by Dr Betty Edwards. This course is for
complete novices or for those who wish to enhance their
skills. The course will be fun as you learn and practice
contour drawing, negative space, perspective, shading
