Chicago: Live in Concert!
The legendary rock-and-roll band Chicago — which will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame in April — will open the 22nd Annual Sedona International Film Festival with two live concerts!
Hailed as one of the "most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era" by former
President Bill Clinton, the legendary rock and roll band with horns, Chicago, came in at #9, the highest
charting American band in Billboard Magazine's Hot 200 All-Time Top Artists. And Chicago is the first
American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six decades.
Chicago's album, "Chicago Transit Authority", was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014,
and the band performed on the Grammy stage for the first time that year. On October 8, 2015, Chicago
received their first Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination. They’ve been eligible since 1994. In April,
the band will be officially inducted! A long time coming!
In 2014, a record of new studio tracks, “NOW” CHICAGO XXXVI, was released on Frontiers Records.
It includes eleven brand new songs, recorded on the road. Chicago has built a new recording system
that is flexible, portable, powerful and musical. This new “recording rig” travels with the band.
Chicago’s lifetime achievements include a Grammy Award, multiple American Music Awards, a star on
the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Chicago street dedicated in their honor, and keys to and proclamations
from an impressive list of US cities. Record sales top the 100,000,000 mark, and include 21 Top 10
singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. An incredible
25 of their 36 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum
awards. Chicago has toured every year since the beginning — they’ve never missed a year.
The line-up includes original band members Robert Lamm on keyboards, vocals, Lee Loughnane on
trumpet and vocals, James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds, as well as Jason
Scheff on bass, vocals, Tris Imboden on drums, Keith Howland on guitar and vocals, Lou Pardini on
keyboards, vocals and Walfredo Reyes, Jr. on percussion.
From the signature sound of the Chicago horns, their iconic Vocalists, and a few dozen of ever-Classic
Songs, this band’s concerts are celebrations. 2016 will mark the band’s 49th consecutive year of
touring, without missing a single concert date!
Chicago band members continue to be true ambassadors for their beloved hometown, carrying the
city's name with pride and dignity around the world.

Dr. Keeling's Curve
The issue of global climate changes takes center stage in a compelling new one-man show by George
Shea.
Noted Emmy-nominated actor and activist Mike Farrell plays Dr. David Keeling, the scientist whose
research on CO2 gave the world its first early warnings of global warming. In this highly acclaimed
performance, Farrell brings to life the quirky and brilliant man who created the Keeling Curve, the
iconic chart that illustrates the rise in atmospheric CO2 levels from 1958 to the present.
The story combines Keeling's personal journey with the insights of atmospheric scientists who,
hundreds of years earlier, made discoveries that laid the foundations for Keeling's own extraordinary
work. We meet Jean Joseph Baptiste Fourier whose obsession with heat led to an understanding of
the greenhouse effect, and Svante Arrhenius who proved a link between global warming and CO2. The
play paints very human portraits of these and other great scientists.
Best known for his eight years on M*A*S*H as Army Capt. B.J. Hunnicutt and five years on Providence
as Dr. Jim Hansen, Mike Farrell is also a writer, director and producer. He is a co-chair emeritus of
Human Rights Watch in Southern California, spokesperson for Concern America, and co-founder of
Artists United to Win Without War.

Tied Up In Knotts
This tribute show is a must see for all of "us kids" from the 50's, 60's & 70's who were laughing at Don
Knotts as Barney Fife on the "Andy Griffith Show." "Tied Up in Knotts" is a father/daughter story about
growing up in a celebrity "Diva" world with a deep love of "Mayberry."
“When my father, Don Knotts, passed away in February 2006, I wanted to pay tribute to him in the way
I knew him best: as an amazing loving dad,” said Karen Knotts.
“In the 1950’s, Don Knotts was making the rounds of casting directors’ offices in New York City.
Destiny knocked on Dad’s door when he got a small part in a Broadway play starring Andy Griffith. In
the 1960s, Andy was set to star in a sitcom about a small town sheriff. Dad called him and asked,
‘Could you use a deputy?’ And Barney Fife was born! I have fond memories of visiting the set of
Mayberry and seeing cast members like Ron Howard (Opie), and Frances Bavier (Aunt Bea). They
were not like their TV characters! Fast forward to the 1970’s, I was a teenager attending Beverly Hills
High and later USC, while Dad was doing variety shows with Bill Cosby and Tim Conway and making
friends with movie star divas. As an adult, Dad encouraged me with both my acting and librarian
careers! I love revisiting these memories of our special father-daughter bond.”
"She makes us all remember, how talented, funny and lovable Don Knotts really was! " — Las Vegas
Review Journal
Jesse Donald "Don" Knotts was born July 21, 1924 in Morgantown, West Virginia. He started his TV
career as a regular on the "Steve Allen Show." From 1955-1957 he performed two roles in the
Broadway version of "No Time for Sergeants" where he met his long-time friend Andy Griffith. He was
then cast as Cpl. John C. Brown in the movie version of "Sergeants" which starred Griffith. From 1960
to 1968 he starred as deputy Barney Fife on the sitcom, "The Andy Griffith Show" and earned 5 Emmy
Awards for "Best Supporting Actor" in a television comedy. For over 10 years he played Ralph Furley
the landlord on the sitcom "Three's Company” plus appeared in over 22 family friendly films.

3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets
USA | 2015 | 98 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Marc Silver
Producers: Carolyn Hepburn, Minette Nelson
On Black Friday 2012, four African-American teenagers stopped at a gas station to buy gum and
cigarettes. One of them, Jordan Davis, argued with Michael Dunn, a white man parked beside them,
over the volume of music playing in their car. The altercation turned to tragedy when Dunn fired 10
bullets at the unarmed boys, killing Davis almost instantly.
The seamlessly constructed, riveting documentary film "3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets" explores the danger
and subjectivity of Florida's Stand Your Ground self-defense laws by weaving Dunn's trial with a chorus
of citizen and pundit opinions, and with Jordan Davis' parents' wrenching experiences in and out of the
courtroom.
As conversations about other victims of senseless violence play out on the national stage, "3 1/2
Minutes, 10 Bullets" dives deep into the aftermath of Jordan Davis' murder. This intimate story of
unnecessary loss in the face of insidious racism promotes seeing one another as human beings, with
the hope that compassion will lessen the inevitability of racial bias, disparity and violence.

An Act of Love
USA | 2015 | 86 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Scott Sheppard
Executive Producers: Mike Manning, Pauley Perrette, Bill Smith
Producers: Kate Logan, Scott Sheppard
Featuring: Frank Schaefer
Frank Schaefer was a United Methodist minister in a small Pennsylvania town, until he was put on trial
in the Church for officiating the same-sex wedding of his eldest son. Schaefer was given a choice vow to never again preside over a same-sex wedding, or lose his credentials as a minister. Frank knew
that he could make no such promise, as three of his four children are gay. After giving him 30 days to
reconsider his stance on gay marriage, the United Methodist Church (UMC) officially defrocked Rev.
Schaefer in December, 2013.
"An Act of Love" follows Frank, his family, and the continuing struggle over LGBTQ inclusion in the
United Methodist Church. Rev. Schaefer’s story traveled quickly, igniting an international news frenzy.
He appeared on The View, CNN, MSNBC, the CBS Evening News, and countless regional news
outlets. With the news spotlight on him, Schaefer went from being a small-town minister to an
outspoken LGBTQ activist with a national platform. Since being defrocked he has been busier than
ever, preaching around the country at churches and rallies. His goal: to change the rules he deems to
be discriminatory in the United Methodist Book of Discipline, which prohibit the ordination of LGBTQ
people and forbid ministers from performing same-sex marriages.
Director Scott Sheppard has been following Rev. Schaefer and his family throughout this journey and
will continue filming as they adjust to their new lives as figureheads in the LGBTQ rights movement,
within the United Methodist Church and beyond.

The Adderall Diaries
USA | 2015 | 105 min • Narrative Fiction
Director: Pamela Romanowsky
Producers: James Franco, Vince Jolivette, Joseph McKelheer, James Reach
Writers: Stephen Elliott, Pamela Romanowsky
Cast: James Franco, Amber Heard, Ed Harris, Christian Slater, Cynthia Nixon
Based on the bestselling memoir by Stephen Elliott, "The Adderall Diaries" is the gripping and complex
story of how an author’s fascination with a high-profile murder case leads him to come to terms with his
troubled past while embarking on a potentially life-changing romance in the present.
James Franco plays Stephen Elliot, a once-successful novelist paralyzed by writer’s block and an
escalating Adderall dependency, who becomes obsessed with a high-profile murder case as a way to
escape his personal troubles. His interest leads him to meet Lana Edmond (Amber Heard), a smart,
sexy reporter who gives him unique access to the case. As their relationship takes off, Stephen is
suddenly thrust back into the past when his father (Ed Harris), a cruel and vindictive man, shows up to
challenge the veracity of the memoir Stephen is writing. As Stephen simultaneously delves into the
details of the murder case (which turns out to have some unexpected parallels to his own troubled
upbringing) and reunites with his estranged father, he is forced to separate truth from lies and fact from
fiction–ultimately leading him to finally reconcile his past and confront his future.
Pamela Romanowksy’s debut feature deftly mixes tones and storylines to create a fascinatingly rich
and engaging viewing experience. Through the character of Stephen, a flawed but always compelling
protagonist, the film explores a wide array of themes and ideas, including the legacy of parents, the
power of memory, and the nature of truth. "The Adderall Diaries" is a consistently surprising and
thought-provoking film to watch, and it will leave you a great deal to reflect on once it’s over.

The Armor of Light
USA | 2015 | 87 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Abigail Disney
Producers: Eva Anisko, Kathleen Hughes
"The Armor of Light" follows an Evangelical minister and the mother of a teenage shooting victim who
ask, is it possible to be both pro-gun and pro-life?
Abigail Disney’s directorial debut, "The Armor of Light", follows the journey of an Evangelical minister
trying to find the courage to preach about the growing toll of gun violence in America. The film tracks
Reverend Rob Schenck, anti-abortion activist and fixture on the political far right, who breaks with
orthodoxy by questioning whether being pro-gun is consistent with being pro-life. Reverend Schenck is
shocked and perplexed by the reactions of his long-time friends and colleagues who warn him away
from this complex, politically explosive issue.
Along the way, Rev. Schenck meets Lucy McBath, the mother of Jordan Davis, an unarmed teenager
who was murdered in Florida and whose story has cast a spotlight on “Stand Your Ground” laws.
McBath, also a Christian, decides to work with Schenck even though she is pro-choice. Lucy is on a
difficult journey of her own, trying to make sense of her devastating loss while using her grief to effect
some kind of viable and effective political action — where so many before her have failed.
"The Armor of Light" follows these unlikely allies through their trials of conscience, heartbreak and
rejection, as they bravely attempt to make others consider America’s gun culture through a moral lens.
The film is also a courageous look at our fractured political culture, and an assertion that it is, indeed,
possible for people to come together across deep party lines to find common ground.

Baby (A)lone
Luxembourg | 2015 | 90 min • Narrative Fiction
Director: Donato Rotunno
Producer: Nicolas Steil
Writers: Tullio Forgiarini, Donato Rotunno, Nicolas Steil
"Baby (A)lone" is not set in a dehumanized world of slums and crushing poverty; or indeed in far away
warm and exotic locations. This story takes place in the very heart of an affluent, contemporary
Europe. In a quintessential western society which often claims to uphold the protection of its children
— the future generation — as its laudable objective.
However, things are not what they seem: X and Shirley are 13 years of age; yet they are already
familiar with violence, drugs and pornography. They are being exposed to these at school and on a
daily basis. This young girl and boy, who proceed to forge a unique partnership, have lost all hope as
they have been forced to grow up too soon and too violently. Loneliness, fear and pain are easier to
bear when shared with someone who has experienced and seen what you have seen. Such a person
might even be able to understand you?
Throughout this intense and psychologically-intriguing film, these two pre-teens will seek to define
themselves, find the love which they desperately crave and create for themselves a world of hope and
make belief. Their violent journey of self-discovery is punctuated by heart warming moments of
previously not experienced joy and happiness.

Censored Voices

In June of 1967 the armies of Egypt, Jordan and Syria massed on Israel’s borders and threatened its
destruction. Israel launched a pre-emptive strike and achieved a stunning and decisive victory nearly
tripling its size with the occupation of the West Bank, the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights. The
nation brimmed with relief, joy and pride, while a new national narrative of manifest destiny emerged.
But drowned out by the euphoria, other voices - many of those who fought the war – had something
different to say.
One week after the conflict, Amos Oz (soon to be a celebrated author) and editor Avraham Shapira
arranged to record conversations with returning soldiers about their experiences. In these intensely
candid interviews they reveal their fears, their feelings about the enemy and their doubts about the
treatment of Arab prisoners of war and the forced evacuations of Palestinian villages. The tapes
capture these young men wrestling with the question of the responsibility of the conqueror to the
conquered (even when the shoe could easily have been on the other foot), the paradox of a people
who fled oppression who must now oppress to preserve their security and the still fervent hope for a
lasting peace with their Arab neighbors.
The Israeli Defense Force partially censored the recordings at the time but transcripts became the
basis for the book “The Seventh Day: Soldiers’ Talk About the Six-Day War” in 1970. Now these newly
available recordings form the core of this probing film as we see the former soldiers, now men in their
seventies, listening to their younger selves. The recordings are juxtaposed with rare newsreel footage
and photography of the conflict combined with an evocative sound design that allows a unique
opportunity to re-experience a war that changed the face of a region still locked in a deadly impasse.
"Censored Voices" was chosen as the best Israeli documentary of 2015 at the
Ophir Awards, the Israeli equivalent of the Academy Awards.

The Chinese Mayor
China | 2015 | 89 min • Documentary
Director: Hao Zhou
Producer: Zhao Qi
Writers: Zhao Qi, Hao Zhou
Communist Mayor Geng Yanbo is determined to transform his coal-mine city into a tourism haven for
clean economy. However, in order to achieve that, he needs to pull down 140,000 households and
relocate 500,000 residences to give way for the restoration of the ancient city.
Once the thriving capital of Imperial China, the city of Datong now lies in near ruins. Not only is it the
most polluted city in the country, it is also crippled by decrepit infrastructure and even shakier
economic prospects. But Mayor Geng Yanbo plans to change all that, announcing a bold, new plan to
return Datong to its former glory, the cultural haven it was some 1,600 years ago. Such declarations,
however, come at a devastatingly high cost. Thousands of homes are to be bulldozed, and a halfmillion of its residents (30 percent of Datong’s total population) will be relocated under his watch.
Whether he succeeds depends entirely on his ability to calm swarms of furious workers and an
increasingly perturbed ruling elite. "The Chinese Mayor" captures, with remarkable access, a man and,
by extension, a country leaping frantically into an increasingly unstable future.

"Deep Web" gives the inside story of one of the the most important and riveting digital crime sagas of
the century — the arrest of Ross William Ulbricht, the convicted 30-year-old entrepreneur accused to
be 'Dread Pirate Roberts,' creator and operator of online black market Silk Road. The film explores
how the brightest minds and thought leaders behind the Deep Web are now caught in the crosshairs of
the battle for control of a future inextricably linked to technology, with our digital rights hanging in the
balance.
In addition to being the only film with exclusive access to the Ulbricht family, "Deep Web" features the
core architects of the Deep Web; anarchistic cryptographers who developed the Deep Web’s tools for
the military in the early 1990s; the dissident journalists and whistleblowers who immediately sought
refuge in this seemingly secure environment; and the figures behind the rise of Silk Road, which
combined the security of the Deep Web with the anonymity of cryptocurrency.

Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon
USA/UK | 2015 | 98 min • Documentary
Director: Douglas Tirola
Producers: Susan Bedusa, Douglas Tirola
Writers: Mark Monroe, Douglas Tirola
Featuring: Judd Apatow, Kevin Bacon, John Belushi, Richard Belzer, Chevy Chase, John Goodman
Amid the seismic cultural shift of the 1970s, American comedy got a sharper edge when a newly
minted magazine named National Lampoon stuck its middle finger up at the establishment. Spawned
at an Ivy League school by the wonderfully warped minds of Douglas Kenney and Henry Beard,
National Lampoon rose from a counterculture rag to a revered comic institution.
Bound by a passion for the absurd and a mistrust of authority, Lampoon's irreverence spanked nearly
every available social taboo from weak-kneed politics to heated racial tensions. This unique cocktail of
high satire and gallows humor exploded onto America's cultural consciousness attracting visionary
talents such as Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Bill Murray, and Chevy Chase, whose comedic force
helped expand the magazine's spirit to stage and film.
Director Douglas Tirola unearths never-before-seen archival footage and brilliantly weaves it together
with the magazine's beautiful and often shocking art, reliving National Lampoon's meteoric rise from
go-to magazine of the counterculture to a brand synonymous with Hollywood's biggest comedies.
Energetic, revolutionary, gently perverted, and often hilarious, "Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead" elevates
nostalgia to a roof-raising experience.

Wendell is trying to make peace with his earthly deterioration in the face of late-stage cancer. His son
Josh is fighting it, fleeing it, denying it. After a five year estrangement, father and son are now thrown
together in a remote cabin enveloped in the vibrant, buzzing, crawling redwood forest of Northern
California. As Wendell forgives himself of his own inadequacies, Josh releases years of pain and
anger, borne from living under the rigid principles of his father, a renowned Buddhist teacher who for
decades pretended to be anything but the deeply flawed, selfish man he really was .... but is he still?
Human connection, obligation, illusion, enlightenment, love and fear — it's all up for grabs in this
meditative, probing, tender story of inevitability.

After decades of war and an oppressive Taliban regime, four Afghan photojournalists face the realities
of building a free press in a country left to stand on its own – reframing Afghanistan for the world and
for themselves.
When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, taking a photo was a crime. After the regime fell from power in
2001, a fledgling free press emerged and a photography revolution was born. Now, as foreign troops
and media withdraw, Afghanistan is left to stand on its own, and so are its journalists. Set in a modern
Afghanistan bursting with color and character, "Frame by Frame" follows four Afghan photojournalists
as they navigate an emerging and dangerous media landscape — reframing Afghanistan for the world,
and for themselves. Through cinema vérité, intimate interviews, powerful photojournalism, and neverbefore-seen archival footage shot in secret during the Taliban regime, the film connects audiences with
four humans in the pursuit of the truth.

This lush English-language period drama recounts the life of Sweden’s Queen Kristina, an enigmatic,
flamboyant, and unpredictable woman centuries ahead of her time who ascended the throne at age
six, was raised as a prince, and strived to bring peace and education to her country — while pursuing

finds herself thrown into a political frenzy as a teenager. Saddled with the Thirty Years War between
Protestants and Catholics, Kristina steers her country away from the conservatives while privately
grappling with her own sexual awakening, in the form of Countess Ebba Sparre (the radiant Sarah

understand humanity and the violent and restrictive forces conspiring against her.
Torn between the conflict of political and personal aspirations, Kristina chooses to make one of the

A Good American
Austria/USA | 2015 | 110 min • Documentary

"A Good American" tells the story of the best code-breaker the USA ever had and how he and a small
team within NSA created a surveillance tool that could pick up any electronic signal on earth, filter it for
targets and render results in real-time while keeping the privacy as demanded by the US constitution.
The tool was perfect — except for one thing: it was way too cheap. Therefor NSA leadership, who had
fallen into the hands of industry, dumped it — three weeks prior to 9/11. In a secret test-run of the
program against the pre-9/11-NSA database in early 2002 the program immediately found the

Director/Writer: Jerry Rothwell
Producers: Bous De Jong, Al Morrow
In 1971 a small group of activists set sail from Vancouver, Canada in an old fishing boat. Their mission
was to stop Nixon’s atomic test bomb in Amchitka, Alaska. Chronicling this untold story at the birth of
the modern environmental movement and with access to dramatic archive footage unseen for over 40
years, the film centers on eco-hero Robert Hunter and his part in the creation of the global organization
we now know as Greenpeace.
Alongside a group of like-minded and idealistic young friends in the ‘70s, Hunter would be instrumental
in altering the way we look at the world and our place within it. These early pioneers captured their
daring and sometimes jaw-dropping actions on film and from this director Jerry Rothwell has made a
thrilling, sometimes terrifying film. A prizewinner at the Sundance Film Festival, it is one of the mustsee documentaries of the year.

With the rapid emergence of digital devices, an unstoppable, invisible force is changing human lives in
ways from the microscopic to the gargantuan: Big Data, a word that was barely used a few years ago
but now governs the day for many of us from the moment we awaken to the extinguishing of the final

"The Human Face of Big Data" explores how the visualization of data streaming in from satellites,
billions of sensors and smart phones is beginning to enable us, as individuals and collectively as a
society, to sense, measure and understand aspects of our existence in ways never possible before.
The premise of the documentary is that all of our devices are creating a planetary nervous system and
that the massive gathering and analyzing of data in real time is suddenly allowing us address to some
of humanity biggest challenges, including pollution, world hunger, and illness. But as Edward Snowden
and the release of the NSA documents has shown, the accessibility of all this data comes at a steep
price. Each of us is now leaving an indelible digital trail that will remain forever in our wake.

Huntwatch
USA | 2014 | 88 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Brant Backlund
Executive Producers: Azzedine Downes, Erica Martin
Producers: Kerry Branon, Richard Moos
The hottest controversy in Canada rages on frozen ice. Historically, sealing was considered a
respectable job, even heroic, until people witnessed it in their living rooms for the first time – graphic
images too sensitive for most. Appalled by what he saw, a charismatic young activist named Brian
Davies set out on a personal crusade to save the seals. Little did he know the battle would last the rest
of his life.
Davies started a movement to end the hunt. He raised money to bring media out to document the hunt
on the remote ice floes. His images and stories led to international outrage. The pressure reached a
head in the 1980’s when the European Parliament banned the import of baby white seal products —
effectively shutting down the hunt. The war is not over. Both sides are fighting dirty. Canadian
politicians have revived the hunt. This time, they are in search of slightly older seals just starting to
shed their fluffy white fur. At about two weeks old, they are now legal. Now, a young, tough activist has
taken the torch.
Sheryl Fink is leading the huntwatch and fighting to completely end the commercial seal hunt — once
and for all. At 78 years old, Brian Davies hopes that he will live to see a victory for his seals, while the
sealing industry is doing everything it can to keep the hunt alive.

In Defense of Food
USA | 2015 | 117 min • Documentary
Director/Writer/Producer: Michael Schwarz
Join best-selling author Michael Pollan on a fascinating journey to answer the question: What should I
eat to be healthy? Cutting through confusion and busting myths and misconceptions, "In Defense of
Food" shows how common sense and old-fashioned wisdom can help us rediscover the pleasures of
eating and avoid the chronic diseases so often associated with the modern diet.
Pollan's journey of discovery takes him from the plains of Tanzania, where one of the world's last
remaining tribes of hunter-gatherers still eats the way our ancestors did, to Loma Linda, California,
where a group of Seventh Day Adventist vegetarians live longer than almost anyone else on earth, and
eventually to Paris, where the French diet, rooted in culture and tradition, proves surprisingly healthy.
Along the way he shows how a combination of faulty nutrition science and deceptive marketing
practices have encouraged us to replace real food with scientifically engineered "food-like substances."
And he explains why the solution to our dietary woes is in fact remarkably simple: Eat Food. Not Too
Much. Mostly Plants. It's indispensable viewing for anyone interested in the relationship between food
and health.

India's Daughter
UK/India | 2015 | 63 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Leslee Udwin
Executive Producers: Nick Fraser, Lorna Auerbach
Producers: Leslee Udwin, Riddhi Jha, Freida Pinto
"India's Daughter" is the story of the brutal gang rape and murder in Delhi of 23-year-old medical
student Jyoti Singh, which sparked protests and serious debate about gender inequality across India.
From the earliest age, Jyoti wanted to become a doctor, but her father had no hope of affording her
education. She persuaded him to put what little money he had managed to save for her marriage to
cover the cost of admission to medical school. To support herself, Jyoti worked night shifts at a call
center, sleeping just three hours a night over the course of four years.
On an early December evening in 2012, Jyoti joined a male friend for an evening out at the movies.
After the show, they caught a bus to make the trip home. On board, six men beat Jyoti’s friend and, for
almost an hour as the bus circled the Delhi streets, raped and tortured Jyoti mercilessly, then dumped
her on the roadside. Jyoti clung to life for two weeks, but succumbed to her extensive injuries after
seven surgeries.
The details of Jyoti’s horrific rape and murder captured India’s attention, and demonstrations erupted
throughout the country as women and men alike took to the streets in outrage. Through interviews with
Jyoti’s family and friends, victims’ rights advocates, as well as from the assailants, their lawyers, and
their families, "India’s Daughter" paints a complicated picture of a country struggling to embrace
modernity while wrestling with the rampant effects of extreme poverty and patriarchal attitudes towards
women.

After a major crisis, a man attempts to track down his long-lost first love, only to discover that she was
killed in a car accident many years prior. His online search leads him to her younger sister, an aspiring
musician who bears a striking resemblance to the girl he used to love. Quickly becoming obsessed, he
arranges a not-so-chance meeting and a relationship blossoms between the two before he has a
chance to disclose his true identity.
In his directorial debut, Chicago-native Sam Kretchmar (who also co-wrote and shot the film) paints an
intimate portrait of a relationship based on deceit. Featuring original music and performances by
singer-songwriter Gabbi McPhee, "Keep in Touch" is a film about love, family, and finding self-worth.

The Keepers
USA | 2015 | 68 min • Documentary
Directors/Producer: Sara Kaye Larson, Joann Self Selvidge
"The Keepers" is a documentary portrait of the personalities and work of zookeepers shot with
unprecedented behind-the-scenes access at the Memphis Zoo. The film is a bittersweet,
nonjudgmental look at what it means to find a place for yourself, working a job that you love.
"The Keepers" follows four different zookeepers and takes viewers behind the scenes, into zoo areas
that are forbidden to the general public. In addition to learning more about these fascinating people,
you will meet the big cats, giraffes, penguins, snakes, and Komodo dragons up close, on the other side
of the zoo exhibits.
The main animal character is Kofi, a five-year-old male giraffe who has not been on exhibit for the past
three years. Kofi's story illustrates the complexity of caring for animals in captivity and shows the love
and fortitude of the keepers that care for them.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION!
Sneak preview of "The Little Prince" before it opens in theaters this spring!
A little girl lives in a very grown-up world with her mother, who tries to make sure she's prepared for it.
Her neighbor, The Aviator, introduces the girl to an extraordinary world where anything is possible —
the world of The Little Prince.
Director Mark Osborne’s “The Little Prince” is a lovingly re-imagined take on Antoine de SaintExupery’s classic 1943 tale — one of the most beloved children's stories of all times. The film adds all
manner of narrative bells and whistles to the author’s slender, lyrical story of friendship between a pilot
and a mysterious extraterrestrial voyager, but stays true to its timeless depiction of childhood
wonderment at odds with grown-up disillusionment.
This special presentation is made possible by the generous support of Paramount Pictures.

Early summer in a village in Northern Turkey. Five free-spirited teenaged sisters splash about on the

Director/Writer: Chantal Akerman

The great Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman ("Almayer’s Folly") crafts a moving portrait of her
relationship with her mother, an Auschwitz survivor whose harrowing past and chronic anxiety has
greatly shaped her daughter’s art.
Shuttling among fiction, adaptation, documentary, and essay film, Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman
has created one of the most original, daring, and influential oeuvres in film history. The cinematic
companion to Akerman's recently published literary self-portrait My Mother Laughs, "No Home
Movie" is a sober, profoundly moving portrait of Akerman's mother in the months leading up to her
death, when she was mostly confined to her Brussels apartment. A Polish Jew who survived
Auschwitz, Akerman's mother suffered from chronic anxiety all her life, an affliction that fuelled much of
her daughter's creative output and helped shape Akerman's thematic preoccupations with gender, sex,
cultural identity, existential ennui, solitude, and mania.
"No Home Movie" offers a treatise on space and time as Akerman's mother lives out her final days in
her orderly apartment, isolated from the outside world and far from a promised land that was never
attained.

Omo Child: The River and the Bush
USA | 2014 | 90 min • Documentary
Director: John Rowe
Producers: John Rowe, Tyler Rowe
For many generations people in the Omo Valley (southwest Ethiopia) believed some children are
cursed and that these 'cursed' children bring disease, drought and death to the tribe. The curse is
called 'mingi' and mingi children are killed. Lale Labuko, a young educated man from the Kara was 15
years old when he saw a child in his village killed and also learned that he had 2 older sisters he never
knew who had been killed. He decided one day he would stop this horrific practice. Filmed over a five
year period we follow Lale's journey along with the people of his tribe as they attempt to change an
ancient practice.
The film contains remarkable imagery from tribal Africa and an intimate look at the lives of the people
whose first contact with the outside world was less than a generation ago. For the first time their story
and their voices will be heard. The film is important because it tells the story of how 44 lives were
saved by Lale Labuko and his friends. It is also a celebration of the new births unthreatened by curses
and superstition. From Lale Labuko’s story, we can glean a universal message: one inspiring,
tenacious individual can make dramatic changes in a society.

Water, the longest border in Chile, also holds the secret of a mysterious button that was discovered in
its seabed. Chile, with its 2,670 miles of coastline, the largest archipelago in the world, presents a

Prophet's Prey
USA | 2015 | 90 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Amy Berg
Producers: Sam Brower, Katherine LeBlond
The twin towns of Colorado City, AZ and Hildale, UT are, at first glance, quaint. Little girls in prairie
dresses and little boys in button up shirts follow their mothers to the stores. The men, in their shiny,
turbo-charged pick-ups have a reputation as some of the best contractors around. The center of town
life, as it is in most Mormon communities, is the Meeting House. Every Sunday, the whole town meets
to listen to the words of their spiritual leader, Warren Jeffs calling from the correctional facility in Texas
where he’s serving a life sentence for marrying – and raping – two girls under the age of 15.
"Prophet’s Prey" is the story of Warren Jeff’s tyrannical rule over the Fundamentalist Church of Latter
Day Saints, and the near-decade long investigation that brought Jeffs to justice – but was unable to
remove him from power.

Remember
Canada/Germany | 2015 | 95 min • Narrative Fiction
Director: Atom Egoyan
Producers: Ari Lantos, Robert Lantos
Writer: Benjamin August
Cast: Christopher Plummer, Dean Norris, Martin Landau, Bruno Ganz, Jurgen Prochnow
"Remember" tells the story of Zev Guttman (Academy Award-Winner Christopher Plummer), a 90-yearold struggling with memory loss who is living out his final years in a serene retirement home. A week
following the death of his beloved wife Ruth, he suddenly gets a mysterious package from his close
friend Max (Academy Award-Winner Martin Landau), containing a stack of money and a letter detailing
a shocking plan. Both Zev and Max were prisoners in Auschwitz, and the same sadistic guard was
responsible for the death of both their families — a guard who, immediately after the war, escaped
Germany and has been living in the U.S. ever since under an assumed identity. Max is wheelchairbound but in full command of his mental faculties; with his guidance, Zev will embark on a crosscontinental road-trip to bring justice once and for all to the man who destroyed both their lives.
Academy Award-nominated director Atom Egoyan creates a thrillingly fast-paced revenge story that, in
a highly original and deeply intimate way, deals with the aftermath of one of the most deplorable and
significant events in recent history. With an incredible lead performance from Christopher Plummer as
the frail but unstoppable Zev, "Remember" manages to keep audiences on the edge of their seats
while giving them something to think about long after the film is over.

Right Footed
USA | 2015 | 82 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Nick Spark
Producers: Nick Spark, Mona Lisa Yuchengco
Featuring: Jessica Cox, Patrick Chamberlain
"Right Footed" tells the story of Philippine-American Jessica Cox, a 29-year-old woman who was born
without arms. Despite enormous psychological and physical challenges, we see Jessica earn a college
degree and two Taekwondo black belts, drive a car and incredibly, become the first person in the world
to learn to pilot a plane — using her feet. Jessica's achievements launch her career as a public
speaker and mentor to disabled children and their families. But, she soon realizes she wants to make a
larger impact. Despite a previous disinterest in politics, she transforms herself into a disability advocate
on the world stage — traveling to Ethiopia to promote disability rights, working with disabled survivors
of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, and lobbying Senators in Washington, D.C. on behalf of a major
disability treaty.
"Right Footed" is both a portrait of Cox's unexpected journey as she becomes a disability activist, and
a very personal story — spanning over two years of her life during which time she gets married and
begins a new life with her husband Patrick, while taking care of her mother Inez who is stricken with
cancer. The film examines the power of one person's life story to effect large scale change. For
Jessica, disability does not mean inability, and her story of perseverance, fearlessness and love is a
source of inspiration for anyone who has ever faced a challenge — physical, mental or otherwise.

Ukraine/UK/USA | 2015 | 80 min • Documentary
Director/Writer: Chad Gracia
Producers: Ram Devineni, Mike Lerner
A thrilling, award winning investigation into the ghosts of the Soviet Union and the mind of an irradiated
Ukrainian artist on a quest to discover the "criminal" behind the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Unforgettably eccentric artist Fedor Alexandrovich begins his quest by revealing to the world an
enormous secret Soviet weapon that stands in the shadow of Chernobyl, and which Kremlinologists in
the 1980s thought might be a giant mind-control device. But what Fedor discovers is much more
sinister. While his theory that Chernobyl was an inside job may seem mad, the audience too starts to
question reality when secret police appear and one of the crew members is shot by a sniper, as
revolution, paranoia and terror engulf the crew.
This Sundance Grand Jury winner and darling of critics worldwide pushes the boundaries of the
documentary form while telling a crucial story about the deadly dance between Ukraine and Russia,
and hinting at what Putin has in mind next. In Gracia's documentary/conspiracy thriller, Alexandrovich
returns to the ghost towns in the radioactive Exclusion Zone to try to find answers - and to decide
whether to risk his life by revealing them, amid growing clouds of Ukraine's emerging revolution and
war.

Still Dreaming
USA | 2014 | 93 min • Documentary
Directors/Writer/Producer: Hank Rogerson, Jilann Spitzmiller
Stretching physical, emotional and mental limits, a group of elderly Broadway actors, musicians and
dancers bravely dive into a production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and find that nothing is what it
seems to be. These former Broadway stars, who reside at the Lillian Booth Actors Home just outside
New York City, embark on a journey through the magical play at the urging of the Home’s
administrators. The staff of the Home sees this as an opportunity to boost quality of life for the
residents. The residents are not so sure.
As the rehearsal process unfolds, the actors find themselves experiencing both the pain and
exhilaration of re-immersion in their life’s work amidst the vagaries of old age. At the same time, the
troupe’s young co-directors, Ben Steinfeld and Noah Brody of NYC’s celebrated Fiasco Theater,
struggle to maintain forward momentum with this over-80 acting ensemble. Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and
even minor issues such as sight and hearing loss create constant crises and obstacles for all involved.
As the troupe pushes forward, the play’s themes of perception, reality vs. dreaming, and memory
become relevant in sharp relief. Ultimately the performance of the play turns out to be surprising,
mysterious and resonant, and a vital reminder of the value of engaging in our dreams no matter the
circumstance.

him as a server at Papa's Chicken and Waffle. Jim embraces the challenge, eagerly trading in his
pinstripes for a pair of Velcro shoes to serve up a motley crew of man-hungry female patrons and
barflies. But when his wife Becky becomes pregnant, Jim desperately needs to earn more than $2.13
an hour.
Inspired by the tenacity of the retiring store owner, Miles Drake III, Jim decides to purchase the Papa’s
Waffle store. This feat requires 1,000 hours of employment. Jim relies on a colorful cast of co-workers
to help him reach his goal. But it is grill master Edward, who ultimately serves “Jimmy-jam” lessons on
fatherhood, finance, and grits.
As the two forge a bond, Edward reveals that he, too, found his second chance at Papa’s. When Drake
shatters Jim’s franchise plans, Jim realizes that greed doesn’t take you anywhere good. He finally finds
honest work doing what he loves.

Our Canyon Lands
USA | 2015 | 35 min

In Southeastern Utah, one of the last major wild places remaining in the lower 48 sits teetering on a
precipice of rampant industrial development. Home to some of the most stunning landscapes in the
world, the Canyon Lands of Utah have become the playground of adventurous souls who love and
appreciate the wonder of wild places. It has also become the target of greedy industrialists, who
threaten to turn our treasured parks into islands, our canyons into roaring hydrocarbon highways and
our rivers into endangered arteries among vast swaths of oil and gas development, uranium and
potash mining bordering Canyonlands National Park.
This development is unnecessary. We do not need to sacrifice our best landscapes to satisfy our
demands for fossil fuels. We must continue to work to preserve these lands. Unfortunately the local
and state governments have turned their back to Utah’s concerned citizens (74 percent want the
protection of wild public lands) and put their hands out to the industries that threaten these fragile
landscapes, tapped watersheds and established recreation based economies. Will we have the will to
save these lands before it is too late?.
