Adding To You Scene
Add to your scene by selecting Scene->Add, this will bring up a dialog where you can select from a number of
included models. To remove a model, first select it by tapping it then use Scene->Remove. Import lets you
import a previously saved scenes.
Main Controls
^ - Show / Hide main menu
MOV - Move selection around scene
ROT - Rotate selection about pivot point
SCL - Scale selection (including any children object)
G - Affect selection globally. Use this with figures to move/rotate/scale the entire figure. This option is greyed
out for single objects.
D - Enable selection of Detail objects. Objects which have been parented can have a "detail" flag set. If an
object's detail flag is set, selecting it will automatically select its parent. This helps with small parts like fingers.
Fingers are flagged as details, selecting them will automatically select the hand. This help you to pose to the
hands first, then when you're ready to pose the fingers, enable D to access them. Any object with a parent can
be flagged as a detail in Selected->Properties.

Note that undo/redo only apply to objects which have been moved, rotated or scaled.
Using Transform Gizmos
Move your object by either selecting the gizmo axis you want to move then dragging. Or you can simply drag on
the gizmo. While a gizmo is selected an axis line will appear to show you the direction of motion.
While in rotate mode all drags and swipes rotate the selection. This is intended to make posing figures more
user friendly. If you need to re-adjust the camera: un-select, adjust the camera, then re-select. Dragging to the
left or right of the object will spin in. Dragging down the center of the object will rotate it towards you. If you like
you can also select one of the three axis gizmos to rotate around a single axis.

Scaling works exactly like move except you are scaling the object.
Object Properties
When an object is selected, adjust its properties via: Selected->Properties:
You can adjust an objects diffuse color, specular color or softness (how hard of a specular reflection is has).
Selecting the color box will bring up a color picker.
When you change an object's material it only affects that object. If you'd like to change the color of the entire
model you need to select and change the model's root object. Do this by first enabling G on the main window.
Now when you access Selected->Properties you will affect all children objects which haven't been individually

set.
Detail Flag
Any parented object (such as a body part) can have a detail flag set. When this flag is set, if you select the
object you'll automatically get its parent. This can help when you've posed a small detail and no longer want to
affect it, such as fingers. Or when you are zoomed out and posing larger elements like hands and don't want to
be bothered with the fingers. When an objects detail flag is set you need to enable D on the main window to
access it.
Resetting Objects
When an object is selected, reset various attribues via: Selected->Reset:
An object's location, rotation, scale and material can be reset. You can also choose to also affect all children
objects. This comes in handy when you want to reset the entire arm or hand of a figure.
Resetting Models
A figure can be in the right place, but posed wrong. Or can be posed right, but in the wrong place. Resetting a
model acts differently if you're selecting the root object or not (using the G option on the main window).
If you are selecting the root object using the G option and you reset everything including all children, all children
will be reset, but the absolute position, rotation and scale of the model will not be reset. This allows you to easily
reset the pose of an entire model without affecting its position.
If you then want to affect its position, reset without selecting Apply to All Children.
Parenting Objects
Models can be parented to each other. This allows you to create more complex scenes by parenting props to
figures or parenting props to each other. To parent: first select the child model you want to parent. Then use
Selected->Parent. Now select the parent object.
To unparent: select the model you which to un-parent then use Selected->Unparent.

danVulanovic.com - User Guide
Note that models can be parented to objects, but objects cannot be parented to models. For example: the hat
(which is a single object model) can be parented to the figure's head (which is one part of the entire figure
model). But you cannot parent the figures head to the hat. If you tried to do this you would parent the entire
figure to the hat.
Also note that currently you cannot parent to an object that has been scaled. In this example, you would not be
able to parent the hat to the head if the figure had been previously scaled. To side-step this issue, you could first
parent the hat to the head, then scale the figure (including the hat), then scale the hat back down. This limitation
will be fixed in a later releases.
Freezing Objects
Models can be frozen in place, making them un-selectable. This can help while posing complex scenes. For
example, you can first pose one figure, freeze it, then pose another figure without accidentally selecting and
moving the first figure. To freeze: select a model, then use: Selected->Freeze. Note that you can only freeze
entire models, you cannot freeze part of a model.
Selected->Frz Unsel stands for Freeze Unselected. When there are many objects in the scene it is often easier
to simply select what you want to pose and freeze everything else.
When you want to unfreeze a model use: Scene->Unfreeze All. Note that you cannot selectively unfreeze
models in a scene, you can only unfreeze everything.
Hiding Objects
Objects can be hidden. This can be used for a number of things. Either to temporarily simplify a scene or to
change a model. To hide an object: select the object to be hidden, then use: Selected->Hide. Note that you can
hide single objects or an entire model. To hide an entire model, use the G option to select the model globally,
then hide.
Hide All Children

If the object you want to hide has children a popup window will ask if you want to Hide All Children. This will
also hide all children below the selected object. For example, say you select a hand and want to hide it. If you
say yes to Hide All Children all the fingers will be hidden as well. This can make it easier to hide sections of a
model, avoiding having to select and hide everything separately.
When you want to unhide a model use: Scene->Unhide All. Note that you cannot selectively unhide models in a
scene, you can only unhide everything.
The Views menu lets you select between orthographic views (top, left, front) and the perspective camera mode.
In both ortho and camera zooming in done with pinching.
While in Camera mode use the Move/Orbit button to select how you want to control your camera. Orbit orbits
around a point in your scene while move lets you move the camera laterally.
**Note**: Double finger dragging will do the opposite of what's currently selected.

Hold / Fetch and Centering the Camera
Hold and Fetch work like copy/paste. Hold the current camera orientation so that you can come back to it later.
But each subsequent hold will over-write the previous one.
Often if you're working on a particular object in your scene it helps for the camera to be centered on it so that
you can orbit around it. Use Center for this. If nothing is selected, Center will reset your camera to the default
position and orientation.
Tilt, FoV and Turn Table
Tilt allows you to tilt the camera up to 45' in either direction. FoV (field of view) allows you to adjust the field of
view of the camera. You can enhance the perspective distortion by adjusting this setting.
Turn Table allow you to rotate around your scene and inspect it, just like an artists turn table.
All scenes have three spots and the ambient light to work with. By default the spot lights are hidden. Show any
one or all of them with the Settings->Lights dialog. Once a light is visible it can be selected, moved and rotated
like any other object. However, note that you cannot undo a movement or rotation that has been applied to a
light, like you can a regular object.

Addition models can now be pushed to you from the danVulanovic.com server. When Settings->Downloads is
highlighted it is enabled. This mean on startup Poseable will check the server to see if any new models have
been added. If so they will be downloaded and made available. Note that if a new version of a model that is
currently in you scene is available it will be downloaded, but you'll need to reload your scene or restart Poseable
to see the update.
In any case, if you've been notified of new models, yet don't see them, simply restart Poseable.
Note that models can also be removed. If a significant error is found in a particular model, it may need to be
removed before being fixed and re-added.
By adjusting drag rates you can control how fine control you'd like to have over various actions.
Settings->ROM allows you to disable / enable range of motion checking. Poseable, by default, limits figure joint
movement to approximate how a real person could bend or move. It also puts restrictions on some props, such

as gun slides. If this doesn't suit your taste you are free to disable it.
Settings->Move All allows you to move all objects. By default some parts of a model or figure can't be moved,
such as body parts of a figure (they can only be rotated or scaled). If you'd like to move body parts around,
enable this setting. Effects
Currently there are two available effects, Silhouette and Horizon:

Poseable comes with a number of different figures and props to help stage your scene. With the release of
v2.0.3, Poseable can check the danVulanovic.com server for new models. This will allow me to push new
models out much quicker.
If there are figures or props you'd like to see, send me a note using this contact form.
Note that when models are based on the designs of other authors (who license their models under CC), credit is
given. Models based on Blendswap models include a Blendswap logo. This is NOT an endorsement from
Blendswap, I'm just trying to show that the model was based on a model from Blendswap.
Please see Release Notes on the next page for latest changes to available models.
