This appointment provides the students with the opportunity to
represent the student body and to actively contribute to the
future direction of the school.
REMEMBRANCE DAY
On Friday 13 November, students from 7L and 7A were
engaged in a claymation workshop. The students wrote scripts,
designed sets and made claymation models, then filmed the
movie clip one frame at a time. Thank you to Mr Taylor and
Mrs Harvey for providing this wornderful enrichment and
extension learning opportunity for these students.
Thank you to our school captains Ellie Bright and Andrew Gay
for representing the school at the Lambton- New Lambton RSL
Sub Branch Remembrance Day Service at Lambton Bowling
Club. A short assembly was also held at school to pause for
one minute’s silence to remember the servicemen and women
who gave their lives while serving Australia in wars, conflicts
and peace operations.
The Year 10 AALP interviews will be held on Monday and
Tuesday this week. This is a compulsory activity for all
students and the grade will be reported as part of the Year 10
school report. On these two days students need only attend
school during their allocated interview time, however,
supervision will be provided for those that may want to attend
school but no formal classes will take place.
Students should arrive at the library 15 minutes prior to the
start of their interview time, be dressed appropriately for the
job interview and with their learning portfolio.
NATIONAL SCHOOLS CONSTITUTION
I am pleased to advise that our school captain Andrew Gay
has been selected to participate in the National Schools
Constitutional Convention in Canberra, as a result of his strong
representation at the NSW Schools Constitutional Convention.
This is a great recognition for Andrew and a wonderful
leadership opportunity.
Panel members should arrive at the front office by 9am to be
escorted to the library by our student leaders. Panel training
will take place from 9.00-9.30am prior to interviews
starting. Morning tea and lunch will be provided and interviews
will conclude by 3pm.
The interview schedule can be found at: Year 10 AALP
Interview Schedule 2015.
I would like to acknowledge Mrs FitzSimons for all of her hard
work in coordinating this valuable school program.
CLAYMATION WORKSHOP
Involvement in the Student Representative Council aims at
developing student leadership and empowering all students to
work collaboratively towards a positive school climate. It is a
leadership position which requires students to be positive role
models and display appropriate behaviour at all times, as the
elected students will be representatives of the school in school
and community events. Nomination forms can be collected
from Mr Rosser and are due by 1 December 2015.
At the P&C Association meeting on Tuesday 10 November we
discussed:
