County Federal 2017 Educational Scholarship Program County Federal will start accepting applications for educational scholarships on February 1, 2017. Each year County Federal awards up to twelve one-year educational scholarships to graduating high school seniors and post-secondary students enrolled in an accredited university or community/technical college full or part-time. Awards range from $500 for community/technical colleges to $1,500 for four-year colleges. Scholarships recipients will be announced at the end of May 2017. Scholarships are distributed in August prior to the fall semester. All participating students are required to complete an application, write an essay and attach a copy of a current high school/college transcript to the application. Scholarships will be judged on GPA (10%), community and high school involvement (20%) and an essay (70%). Wednesday, April 5th at 5:45 pm Nominations for the Board of Directors The Nominating Committee has selected the following candidates for two vacancies open this year: Peter Ng Mr. Ng has served on the Board of Directors for over 16 years after initially serving on the Supervisory Committee for a year. He is currently retired after 29 years of public service with Santa Clara County, Santa Clara Valley Water District, and the City of Sunnyvale. Mr. Ng earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University. Eric Goodrich Mr. Goodrich has been a member of County Federal since 1988, and served as a member of the Supervisory Committee from 1999 to 2004. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2005 and also serves on the Credit Union Services Organization (CUSO) Board. Mr. Goodrich has been an employee of the County of Santa Clara for over 30 years, working for the Parks and Recreation Department. County Federal offers Skip-a-Pay to help when you need it. What is Skip-a-Pay? The Skip-A-Pay Program gives you the option to defer a monthly payment on an eligible County Federal Loan to the end of the loan. We advance your payment due date and your maturity date (for example on a 48-month loan, if one payments skipped, you make 48 payments over 49 months) for a nominal fee. All without impacting your credit rating. It’s that simple. Here’s How It Works: To take advantage of our Skip-A-Pay Program, visit our website and print out the Skip-A-Pay Request form.
