REVIVAL OF HOPE
A NOTE FROM YOUR PASTOR ROB ISON
The Whiff of Home
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal
procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere
the fragrance of knowledge of him. For we are to God the
aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and
those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of
death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal
to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word
of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 NIV
Do you remember your mother’s smell? I do. I could quickly
identify it to this day. It is not simply the smell of perfumes, lotions, or soaps. It is essentially her. It is the mix of her habits,
her skin, her clothes, and her home. It is precious. When you
get just the first whiff of that smell, you think about her.

Mark your calendar! Vacation Bible School will be June 2123, in the evenings, and commencement and annual fish
fry will be on June 24. This year’s theme will be sportsbased. If you would like to volunteer, fill out the insert in
today’s bulletin and give it to Sherry Tolley or turn in to the
office.
If our habits, exterior, and home produce an aroma, what does
the Lord smell on us? Paul told the Corinthian church that
Christians have an aroma that reveals life to those who know
Christ and death to those who rebel against Him. What do those
going through the aches and pains of emotional and physical life
smell on us? When we are trying to love them, do they recognize our sincerity or does our selfishness become obvious?

LifeLine Screening, a leading provider of community-based
preventive health screenings, is pleased to offer a preventive health event at PSBC on 6/12/17. Five screenings will
be offered. The Wellness Package includes 4 vascular tests
and osteoporosis screening is $139 with member discount.
Screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Register by:
calling 1-888-653-6441; visit http://lifelinescreening.com/
communitycircle; or text the word circle to 797979.
Do you smell the aroma of God? Hell has a smell. But, so does
Heaven. In your daily lives, you can get a spiritual sense of both.
You may not recognize the aroma of the spiritual influences
around you…but just as you can smell Momma, you can detect
the aroma of spiritual things as well. How does the Lord smell to
you?
Once again, I want to thank everyone for all the delicious desserts you have blessed the Prison Ministry with. May God bless
each of you special!
My love,
Dianne Hildebrant
A Revival of Hope exists for those who like Momma, aren’t auditioning for the job or the title, they already have it. As Christians, we need to be bold in our witness reproducing the aroma
of heaven everywhere the Lord sends us.
