Boxes were palletized with 4 cardboard corners and secured by nylon straps. 5.MARKING: The cardboard boxes were provided with the following markings: STORE AT 10º / 50º F NET WT 4.5 KG PRODUCT OF ECUADOR www.trust-control.com Terms and Conditions in Website 6.INSPECTION RESULTS: Containers unsealing Prior to discharge of containers, we had witnessed opening of containers doors/breaking the seals. All the seals were found properly installed, safe and intact. De‐stuffing operations The pallets were de‐stuffed from the containers by receiver’s staff and stowed into the cold store by means of forklifts. Inspection of the fruit was performed during de‐stuffing of containers. Temperature The ambient temperature throughout the discharge ranged from (+28.0) to (+32.0) °C. Survey We carried out random inspection across the consignment to record any obvious defects and disorders. The criteria for the inspection included: packaging, counts and marks, quality of product against EEC regulations Class and also receiver’s requirements for sales to the multiple supermarket customers. The cartons were generally found to be clean, neat and in good condition during the visual inspection. The papayas were found whole, fresh in appearance, firm, sound, clean and practically free from pests and their damages.
