The benefits of staying home
for spring break
Spring break is quickly approaching and while many of us are headed
out of town to amazing destinations, still many of us are choosing to
spend time at home. To those staying home, here are some alternatives
to make the most of your long awaited break.
Take time off: OK, so maybe you are not sitting by the beach
surrounded by tall palm trees or taking in loads of vitamin D, but do not
worry! The point of Spring Break is to take a break. Close those
textbooks and take time to relax and prepare for the upcoming final
weeks of the semester.
Volunteer: Join a group or a local organization that benefits nature,
young kids or even your own community.
Spend time on homework: Take advantage of this time to get ahead
on homework and projects so that when school resumes you will be
more than ready to go.
Exercise: This can be a great way to start an exercising routine and to
relieve some stress.
Be a tourist in your own city: Having a whole week off gives you an
opportunity to take advantage of everything your city has to offer. Below
is a list of suggested events to start having some fun this spring break.
March 14-Yoga and Meditation at Discovery Green
